Bets anyone?

Post by flyinbrick68 »

Anyone wanna take bets on how long the 8 1/4 will last behind the 451 and a 727 with a shift kit and street radials after i get it done? Thought it'd be interesting to see peoples opinions.

Yes im looking for one, not so easy finding one that'll bolt into a c body though. I believe a b body 71-74 has the same spring perch measurements just narrower.

Thanks guys. I think I've located an 8 3/4 from a 66 c body and possibly one from a 71 so things are looking up afterall! Now I'll just have to bite the bullet and go after some aftermarket gears!

I'm greatful for the help! After planning the rpm i need to cruise at with the convertere I'll be using id need at least a 3.23 gear w a 26" tire. So chances are even if i find an 8 3/4 from a c body i'd still need to buy gears.
