GERRY'S NEW TOY!!!!!!!!

Post by miatasportscar »

PLEASE ladies & gents, do not hate me for selling my prize winning 1965 Sweptline. (remember it?). But I haven't been on the forum for quite some time and simply want to say "hello".
I just purchased the nicest 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom Sedan in the country. 38k original miles. 383 with four bbl and dual exhaust, sweet engine, lots of pep and torque for a car of this size. Looks, drives like the day it was built, a true time capsule and even beyond.
I simply wanted all my Sweptline forum friends to know I haven't tossed the MoPar scene out with the sale of my truck. I'm going to try to have as much fun with my "new" Newport Sedan.
Hope you aren't mad at me fror getting rid of the Sweptline for a car, but :*#%^ happens" {smile}.
Hope all of you are fine and I hope to meet a few of my old Sweptline forum friends one day....
Stay well,
Gerry

It floats down the road in dead silence. What a cool driving car, plenty of power from that 383 with 4bbl and dual exhaust. As for the cleanliness of the engine compartment, IT HAS NEVER BEEN PRESSURE WASHED or anything, just wiped clean Pledge and soft toweling from new. The fellow who owned it before me was only using it for "show", never driven on an inclement road from new. Hardly will one ever see a survivor like this.
Although I was looking for a Dodge Adventurer Pickup, I couldn't find an original survivor that I liked so I bought this Chrysler. All it needs is front seal on the transmission, and the fuel gauge stopped working. While the transmission is out I'm putting both front & rear seals, lube speedometer cable and fix fuel gauge, I suspect bad ground for the fuel sensor is all it needs to be fixed.
One gorgeous car, even smells new inside. See you at the car shows this summer!

My first car was a 67 newport 4 door sedan with a 383. I loved that car, but my dad made me get rid of it. Kept the engine thoe. Its in the process of goin in my 69 power wagon. Your car is a beauty comapred to the one I had.

John:
Do Stop in Geneva and see me. Call my cell 315-521-1688 before you come so I'll be ready for you. We'll have lunch or something, and I'll show you the Chrysler. Thanks for the tip on the "Big Chrysler" site, I'll try it.
I've never seen a '67 car this "new" and I've see a lot of them both original and restored. This car is a real "survivor". I'm going to spend a few bucks making it as nice to drive as possible, then I'm heading for the Upstate NY car shows this summer/fall.

Can you have it? Why certainly you can. Simply find me a Dodge Adventurer in as nice condition, with under 40,000 miles and I'll swap you even for it. Otherwise save your pennies, when I'm ready to part with it you can be first in line to put it in your garage. Better save LOTS Of pennies, cause you can't buy one like this one cheap.....the best there is always costs a little bit more....[smile]
Thanks for the nice compliment, I appreciated it.

Great C-Body Gerry! Like it and remember cruising to church every Sunday in one just like it! I like that it has the 4bbl dual exhaust too! Is it an HP motor in it or were the 4bbl and duals added on later? Man, you could eat your lunch off that motor! I have a 68 Fury 2dr HT with the HP 383 factory and love that big boat. Hope mine will look half as good as that one does some day! You do have to go over to the Drydock and introduce yourself over there. Welcome Back!

Hello ladies & gents:
Well, I took the new "C" body Chrysler to two car shows this weekend. Although the car is magnificant, I miss thye Sweptline. Wish I never sold the Sweptline. The Chrysler drives like a dream, is everything anyone would want in a near showroom "survivor", but it's definitely not a Sweptline. It is however a beautiful sedan in every way, and would suit the fussiest buyer.
I like it, but have decided to sell it and start my search for the perfect "unrestored survivor" Adventurer. If any of you know of anyone looking for a very beautiful 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom sedan, I have perhaps the newest unrestored example in the country. If anyone has interest I can be reached at 315-789-3670 in Geneva, NY. This car can be driven coast to coast, it runs and drives as good as it looks. I just spent another $1000 on it getting new front/rear transmission seals, rear main seal, all pan gaskets, trans filter and all fluids changed, new brake shoes. It has four (4) new radials, new fuel pump, new dual exhaust front to rear, tune up. It needs virtually nothing, mechanically perfect in every way. Paint glistens and interior appears as if no one ever sat in it. (see photos). It is detailed for "show" in every way.
I like it, but miss my Sweptline, and want another one. If you hear of anyone fussy, I'd like to sell the Chrysler, not cheap, but "the best there is", period.Call for price and accurate description. No dreamers, the car is simply gorgeous and mechanically perfect. Will trade for Dodge Adventurer in like condition. Call for price. 315-789-3670 (home) or 315-521-1688 (cell)
I miss my Sweptline, gotta find another one, but only have room for one,
Gerry

hello Gerry
that is a very nice Chrysler you have, I realize you probably are not ready to buy a sweptline until you sell the Chrysler, but there is a 1971 dodge d100 adventurer "sport" 318,auto,
a/c, power steering, power brakes. around 50,000 miles, for sale in midland mi owned by a member of this forum, I know it still has the original plastic on the seat. ive seen it and its
a beautiful truck. just thought I would help out if I could.
