Junkyard parts = SCORE !!

Post by B5ALIVE »

This Friday, I made a visit to probably the last working vintage / antique salvage yards still in operation in my area....Because I live in Maine, and between the rust, and enviro wackos who want to do away with this kind of business = it is just short of a miracle, that this place still exists!! I took over 3 hours roaming through the woods and fields of this yard, and found between a dozen to twenty Sweptlines available for picking!!!!! I snagged a few "treasures" and told the owner that I will be back with more cash and my "good"camera real soon (probably next Saturday) Any how ...here are a few pics of the parts I scored

Holy cow. It looks like you understand how nearly impossible each part is to find! Keep going back, it works if you work it.

I've never seen the chrome headed screws. :Thumbsup

It looks like you found some hard to find parts and in nice condition too. Take some pictures of the trucks sitting in the yard too. I'm sure some like to see salvage yard pictures.

That wood grain panel is a hard to find part. When I had my 71 W200 I put one of those in it. Came out of a full load truck in a bone yard. 25 years ago at least.

Now that I have "the lay of the land" of the yard..I plan on returning to grab up some more good stuff!!! I will bring the Canon DSLR for some good yard pics as well! I was wishing I had today off from work = I'm now jonesin to get back in a bad way !! here are a few yard pics I did get with my phone . notice how a good amount of valuable parts were stashed away in vans and busses years ago BTW there were 2 or 3 A100 trucks and several A vans as well

That Challenger front valance looks perfect even though it isn't worth much. I think the plastic grille inserts for your truck are hard to find in nice condition. I noticed one in the front seat of the Blue truck. Nice job on the woodgrain. I love it! :Thumbsup

Damn, your pistol grip set-up is AWESOME!!! Makes me miss my old Challenger... sniff ;-(

But you're a lot less likely to get pulled over in a pickup (I don't think I ever have actually) and you don't have to jack it up to get under it either ;-)
