Re: Date of Manufacture
Probably not the same, but on my 71 it is on between the drivers door hinges on the cab pillar. A decal.
Re: Date of Manufacture

Re: Date of Manufacture
if you have a Factory Service manual, it should have a way to decode your vin.

Either you entered it incorrectly or you have a misstamped VIN plate. The other possibility is that you have a Canadian VIN. The VIN won't give you the exact date of manufacture either but will give you a sequence number. Some of the later trucks had a sticker in the door opening with the month and year of manufacture.

Re: Date of Manufacture
The other thing that can happen is for some reason the DMV needed to issue a new VIN, these typicaly have the agency name on them.soopernaut wrote:Either you entered it incorrectly or you have a misstamped VIN plate. Re: Date of Manufacture
Tried to decode my 66 D0dge W100 VIN and it came up invalid. Yes its a Canadian Dodge truck. E-mailed the registry Pics and stuff for help and to register my truck I hope.

Re: Date of Manufacture
on the earlier trucks the VIN does not give you the exact date of manufacture - just the year in which the VIN fell into.
the only place you'll find the exact date is the build sheet - mine was scheduled on 7/10

Wow. That is the first build sheet that I've seen for a truck. Cool!
