Re: Sweptline Cruise / Ladies dominate
The cruise was just AWESOME!
First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to Robin for putting this together. He went above and beyond the call of Sweptline to put together an incredible day for all of us.
We had a great meeting point, then cruised to breathtaking Red Rocks Park in Morrison, CO. It was incredible to see SO many trucks attending this from three different states! Robin had spent days planning our Rally route - it was just beautiful. We went through some amazing little mountain towns, saw lakes, wildlife (well, they tell me there was wildlife - evidently I was driving too fast), and then back to Red Rocks Park for a delicious barbeque lunch and lots of truck talk!
I am always just amazed at how absolutely incredible Sweptline owners are. Everyone is always so kind, generous and encouraging. We had trucks in all states of restoration - and of course, those folks who've already reached that finish line. 68Dodge1 was a site to behold, and was well deserving of the "People's Choice Award."
Another big thanks to all those owners who made big drives to make it to the Cruise - we had folks from as far away as Casper, WY and Idaho!
Yes, I was lucky enough to win the Road Rally, but as my husband said "well, the only other award you would have been eligible for would be 'member most in need of assistance!" It's true. Plus, I like to drive fast. There's always that.
I took some video, but due to my lack of high-tech abilities, I'm going to have to call on one of my teenagers to help me get it edited down. I'll bet a bunch of photos start showing up soon, though.
Thanks again to everyone for making this a day to remember.

Re: Sweptline Cruise / Ladies dominate
I'll second that, Jan! Thanks to Robin and all those who made the trip to make for a record-breaking number of Swepties (and Utes)! We had 16 trucks there by my count... soon we'll have to take up that lower lot, Robin! Lots of passers-by and heads a turnin' checkin' things out. I plan on having mine there next year for sure! Here's a little taste of what no one got to see:

Robin is the Sweptline Cruise Master. All of
you folks are fortunate to have a guy that
rounds up the troops once a year.
Wish I lived Closer. Maybe I'll fly out and ride
shotgun with a fellow member.
I'm sure someone has some good pics of
the event & I'm sure I'm not the only one who
wants to see them.

Re: Sweptline Cruise / Ladies dominate
Robin did a great job.
He also poured his time and effort into this...
He did this pretty much on his own...bought all the food...LOTS of TIME and WORK!
Just because he loves these old trucks.
If there was some way to eventually make this into some type of "Sweptline Nationals" or something...
I wonder how many trucks we could get together...
Wouldn't it be great to have a hundred sweptlines in one place...
What if...

Re: Sweptline Cruise / Ladies dominate
I couldn't agree more, Mike. It would be awesome to have a Power Wagon Rally equivalent right here in beautiful Colorado. I loved the venue... next year we should commandeer that lower parking lot so the kids can run around and we can set up canopies and such for shade and BSing

Re: Sweptline Cruise / Ladies dominate
Houston's really not that far, I've driven my truck to San Antonio (where I lived before moving back to Colorado) 2 times, and my wife has done it 6 times, under 1100 miles, but be sure to let me know ahead of time and I'll help you with arrangements on a place to stay.cdhawk wrote:Awesome job, Robin! Re: Sweptline Cruise / Ladies dominate
If you choose not to drive, let us know ahead of time, I don't know of any truck owner in Colorado who only has 1 truck so you could help get a truck out to be seen by the public.Hobcobble wrote:Robin is the Sweptline Cruise Master. All of
