Houston Swepties

Post by Seabee »

I saw a guy at Lowes (Cypress) earlier this week who pulled up in a pretty sharp Chebby II, he told me the Nifty Fifties club has a get-together every Sat night at the Kroger parking lot on Spring Cypress North of 249. Any Houston area Swepties up for a cruise up there? I'm gonna be in DC this weekend but after that would love to go check it out. The guy said there's a LOT of old cars there every Sat night.

Sadly there arent many Houston area swepties that make an appearance. Hotrodjohn is sometimes at the little show at the Hooters at NASA RD 1 and 45 with Charlies 61, but other than that the only other one besides mine that ive seen at shows is a red 69 power wagon. As for the Nifty Fifties show, i never made it out there while i was home for the summer, so im not sure how many are out there. I might try to make it out to a show with my 62 when i get home for thanksgiving but until then i wont be in the area. Hope to see you around sometime!

I used to run the "front door" of the Niftee 50ees show. There were only two swepties that came out in 5 years that I remember. A white one and a primer black one. This show usually pulls 300-400 cars a week when the weather is decent.

mine was the white one :Thumbsup good luck getting any of the houston guys off thier butts for a show any more. we were doing yearly meets there for about 3 years, but its kind of dwindled down to nothing. trying to orginize a houston meet from nm became a pain, and when i stopped trying, it quit happening pretty fast. but, the good news is, if you call up dave or john, or pretty much any of the guys down there and say "hey, meet me here" they usually will. great group of guys to hang out with and talk to.
