Etsweptster Here it is!
One of the good things about the get togethers, sometimes others can help, I commented on not having a passing gear, Etsweptster took a look at my set up and we were trying to make an adjustment and found not only was passing gear not hooked up, but, I ONLY HAD 1/3 OF THE 4 BARRELLS so in an attempt to open the carb up the bolt broke so I drove home with 3rd gear shift point at 55 mph. well Sunday I worked on fixing the problem, IT IS NOW FIXED I HAVE ALL 4 BARRELLS AND PASSING GEAR, took daughter out and didn't tell her what I was doing started driving got up to road speed in front of the house 45mph and kicked it down, she grabbed the arm rest and said "OH MY GOD" I told her "that was old school passing gear" a real passing gear!!!! I'm ready to go out and run someone, rolling start (above 35mph so I don't smoke the tires and get traction) Comeon Lets Do It!

LOL That is a lesson I learned from Mopar Engine Modifications and Mopar Chassis Modifications books from Direct Connection more years ago than I care to admit. It is ASTOUNDING how many really good engine/trans/chassis setups are put together without checking for all 4 full open at WOT at the carb! Its those little tweaks that can really make a difference.

you also have to watch out, because some carbs wil go past center, actually closing back off a bit if your adjusted for too much throttle. im surprised you never checked that robin.

Oh I had 4 barrells, but now can you guess how much faster it is? now that they are fully open, and how much faster 1/4 mile it will be with gear change, along with a couple more engine improvements. and the change to power steering and power brakes, maybe disc.
