Anyone in Albuquerque, Phoenix or Denver?

Post by soopernaut »

I know there are members in these cities.

I plan on being in those areas near the end of April. I definitely want to see some Sweptlines on my trip.

I plan on being in

Albuquerque Wednesday the 22nd and Thursday the 23rd and passing through again Sunday the 26th.

Phoenix sometime on Friday the 24th. If it's too hot I may not stay long.

Denver sometime on Sunday the 26th and possibly part of Monday the 27th.

I will also be in areas between these cities but I'm a person that doesn't like to make many stops along the way.

Some of these dates could change but the focus of my trip is the Albuquerque area.

I also may want to visit some salvage yards or find some parts. I won't really have much in the way of tools with me though.

I'm located just east of Phoenix, Mesa area.

Depending on how you travel here, there are a few places you can go for parts. Desert Valley Auto Parts is located North of Phoenix on the way to Flagstaff off the I-17. Their sister site is located in Casa Grande located south of Phoenix off the I-10. They actually won't allow you to bring tools in, they remove all parts themselves. I have noticed that the yard personnel tends to rip things apart rather than take the time to look and see how to disassemble it. I've had to interject many a time...

No occasion, just a vacation.

I didn't know if I should have waited 'til April to post this since it is a little way off. My overall trip dates shouldn't change but I could spend less time in certain areas and more in others making some of the above a little sketchy. I'll probably play it by ear.

I'll bump this up a few times and see what I get for replies.

Yep, I'm here in Albuquerque, would love to check out some yards, and meet someone new people. The guy I bought my truck from might sell you something too. I'll give you my numbers later and you can call to set up some times to hang out.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I wanted to add something. I am not expecting anything from anyone who replies. I am not the most hospitable person myself. You are under no obligation to feed me, provide shelter for me or even talk to me unless you want to. I could say "hi", take a few pictures of your truck and be on my way or I could become your new best friend.

I will PM some people later and get some contact information.

I am also planning on visiting Dodge Truck Heaven in Nebraska. I have been in contact with the owner and he said it is OK.

if you run 10 from pheonix to 25 and head up to albq youll pass right thru my back yard in las cruces. slick is out around tuscon, fred is in wilcox, frank in mesa, steve in peoria, man the list goes on around here... :Thumbsup between me and my nieghbor the salvage yards around here are picked pretty clean, but theres a place in town with some mean green chili enchiladas. if you make it thru hit me up and we can grab a bite and tell some stories :salut

i stil have the 66 parts truck and a bunch of big block stuff sitting here if you need anything. albq is only a couple hours away, i might even make a trip out if a few of the guys are getting togather.

I probably won't be in southern New Mexico. My original plan was to go through Texas, into El Paso, and north through Las Cruces and into Arizona, through Phoenix, then back north and over to Albuquerque. Since I'm going to Nebraska I had to scale back my trip because it was going to be too long.

I'll probably make a straight shot from here to Albuquerque, then west into Arizona, south at Holbrook to Phoenix, then north to Flagstaff, back east to Albuquerque and north to Denver.

It doesn't seem that there is going to be any large gathering at any of these cities which makes my scheduling easier.

Are your plans to be in Denver still...???

"Denver sometime on Sunday the 26th and possibly part of Monday the 27th."

I would enjoy seeing you...we can coordinate this with Robin...

I regret not getting together with DB69 when he was here...sorry...had to go to my nephews birthday party.

I sent you a PM asking you for a contact number but never received a reply. Robin said you may have trouble sending PMs or something. You can send me a PM with your number. I will send you an email incase you cannot send PMs.

Yes those are still my plans. I don't know if Robin will be busy with Softball or not. I will probably be around Monday during the day but will have to get to this place in Nebraska by evening. I will send you a PM.
