i was wondering, what is the best upgrade/modification you have done to your truck? stock, or non stock, store bought or fabricated, i dont care. im just curious, what have you done to your truck over the years that has made it more useable, reliable, or just down right more pleaseing to work on, look at or drive? maybe your greatest upgrade/modification will give a less experienced member a good idea they could use, might even teach some of these old dogs a new trick or two.
mines a draw between getting rid of the cannister oil filter in favor of the spin on conversion kit and putting on my free flowing dual exhaust system. one made life easier, the other made driving more of a pleasure. hard choice as to what was the best. i know all i have done to mine is a basic stock rebuild, and every little bit has added up to help. but there are those of you out there who have done some things that could really be of inspiration to some of us. so share with the rest of us already.........

As far as improving the looks of my '61, I bought a cheap car cover
for it I do plan on re-cabbing it after a bit of welding to the
replacement cab and [maybe] some real paint. Another mod was
getting a 3-row rad from Butch Romig that will make my truck run a
bit cooler. I installed electronic ignition to my '67 R/T and am going to
do so on my truck as well..... great improvement!

Good Deal
Cowboy did the mods on my 71 before I bought it but one thing I'm really enjoying is having the three speed off the column and on the floor!!
I drive to work in bumper to bumper traffic EVERY DAY for over and hour one way and having the shifter off the column makes it much easier to handle.

Reciever hitch on the front as well as the back. Now I can get the long trailers into and out of tight spots with ease. Now if it only had power steering!!

upgrade
This is a tough one and I started not to try and isolate one thing but it all boils down to back in 1989 when I made up my mind to go with the 440/727 and electronic ignition- look what it started, that is probably one of the most popular swaps out here now! but to me personally, even having the 440 sstock except the Edelbrock 750, and headers, the show of power it has been able to do and the respect the truck had in San Antonio was awesome! Now with the additional few thousand dollars worth of up grades I can't wait to get it to Colorado!
