you want a rare beast to tow your max wedge car??? i have everything you need here to make a 65 crew cab long bed camper special CSS/HPP clone with working a/c (a truck that never existed). take the 62 413 i have (4 bolt valve covers), punch it 70 over to make the 426, drop it in the crew, add the stripes and a few of the polsihed stainless pieces i have for the upgrade and your there. :Thumbsup you wont be very happy hauling a car with a half ton short bed. mine has already hauled 3 across NM and west texas. performed like a dream. not only that, you take the left over parts from making the dream truck, and you will have enough for a 66 d100 long bed with a 318 poly and an automatic. 2 trucks, made into one kick @#% one and the leftovers make a beater that runs well also. package deal if your interested. fly in, and drive the crew home towing the d100. i will make you the deal of the century if your serious. not to mention my crew is one of 3 known to exist, and the only fully loaded camper special sporting many rare options. i was planning a clone build on the crew, so i have all the parts, but then i had a baby, so much for my fun money. :Thumbsup

Weren't there meant to be a couple of accidental 426 hemis made in 66, or is that just a rumour?
Wonder what happened to the factory supported Super stock max wedge d100's that were made? Not technically factory but man what historic trucks! I love playing that old TV ad where the ram master drag truck beats the 409 chevy. :clap

rumor has it that two trucks were built by the Dodge Truck engineers with 426 Street HEMI's in them. upper management deemed them "not viable options" and killed the idea. apparently at least one has survived and i have "idea" where it is but no confirmation.

Heres my take on this.

1. HPP trucks with DAN's being the rarest and possably being one of the Palamino trucks.

2. Dudes, because right now nobody has any idea how many there are. I think they made more "Dudes" than CSS trucks but we wont know till we get more concrete numbers. Maybe when Ben gets the "Dude Registry" up and running we'll have a better idea. So my number 2 and number 3 could change

3. CSS trucks

4. Crew Cabs. The early ones are getting harder to find

5. W-300's. They never got over a 1000 units till '69 and '70, then droped back under for '71

6. Adventurers. Made from '68 thru '71

This one would be the rarest of the rare. The crem-dela-crem. And the most desirable of all of the Sweptlines.

Not Sweptline era but still called Sweptlines

1. '78 Midnight Express. Only one known to exist

2. '78 440 SE's. Only 74 made

3. '78 Lil Red Express

4. '79 Lil Red Express

5. Any Warlocks, original or Warlock II's

6. Any of the "Macho"/"Special Edition" 4X4's

7. Any BB truck from this era

8. Any SE/Adventurer trucks from this era

Good post, and I don't dissagree with your estimates. One factor that would have to be considered as fas as rarety goes would be the bed length. All the HPP and Dudes were long beds, but CSS's and Adventurers came in short and long. Long beds seem to out number shorties by a good number, so a short CSS or Adventurer might be more rare than a Dude or a crew cab. It's too bad that the production numbers aren't available.

57-59 with the Dodge station wagon Fenders.

If you do a quick google search for "1958 dodge sweptline" & pic it doesn't even show up

Fargo W100, I have a V8 1967, they made 92, with approximately 50 having V8 power. Very few left, I know of 4.

There's one Factory HPP Crew Cab in California. It's on the registry highly documented

I scrapped a 66 W100 a number of years ago. Poly 4 speed Swept box. Basically like my 66. I used it for reference when assembling mine. Rotted out completely. Think it was a Dodge.

I bought a 66 W100 Fargo last fall. V8 truck, I would guess it's a rare one too.
