Looking forward to seeing the raw pictures of this. I'll be in OK next weekend, I'll have to see how far away i am for the unearthing site, might have to stop by there.

Does anyone else remember when they buried that car? I remember it well, couldn't believe that were wasteing a 57 Belvedere when I wanted one so bad. I was sixteen at the time and fifty years seemed like forever. Well here is is fifty years later and I can't wait to see what shape it's in.

It'll be unearthed this Friday night, but won't be on public display until Saturday at the Tulsa Convention Center.
Viewing of Friday's unearthing is by invitation only, and is limited to just a few hundred people.

This just in. They have found the vault and upon further inspection have found the vault to have several feet, yes feet of water in it. And we all know how well the cars back then were rust proofed. Looks like the winner is going to get a big chunk of rust.

Hope that sealed plastic cover did it's job??? Appears from the walls of the vault the water level has been higher than the roof at times.

The condom broke. The pics prove the car got soaked.
If the plastic was a watertight seal around the car, the car would have floated (and bumped the roof against the concrete lid). A floating car would not have stayed perfectly centered in the vault. Therefore, since the car appears to be in the exact same location as originally set down, it didnt float, therefore it was immersed.
Does the winner HAVE to take this POS? (p=pile)
This is a great joke on the sophistication (lack of) and lack of big picture thinking of the decision makers in this event.

the more I think about it, if the car is still remotely salvageable, I would take it. How often do you have the chance to have a well documented, never driven, 1957 Plymouth that you can prove the entire history of. I'd be willing to bet you could sell it restored for more than you would put in it, if you can turn the restoration over fast enough to capture the attention. That said, I am apprently a glutton for punishment...
Thanks, Clint
