It does look familiar, but there were so many people and trucks that have come and gone over the years on this forum. It might take a long time to find.
No doubt... I’m sure a lot of the things done to this poor truck happened after it left the hands of someone that cared enough to be part of a community that appreciates them. Let me see if I can share a pic of the trans crossmember... I can’t tell what the reasoning would have been... Maybe the wrong tail shaft so this was the fix??
Man, why would someone even do that......especially in a 69-71, all they needed to do is change the isolator mount. Well, at least it's an easy fix for you.
New mount is already ordered and should be here in the morning! We will start with fixing the obvious and keep moving forward.
If your truck is a pre-'69, the frame is different. You might possibly need to do
more than just slide in a new tail shaft insulator. Can you post more photos of
how this drive train is set up?

John
John, he confirmed the frame VIN matched the 71 VIN plate.
Yes, the frame is a 71. The engine is a 77 318 and has iH, as in International Harvester, cast on both sides of the block. That was a new one on me... I will try to get back by the shop tomorrow and run the numbers on the transmission to see if I can learn what it came out of.

Any advise on finding the correct “pancake” style insulator? I’m coming up empty...

There were a couple people selling them on eBay, that's where I got mine.
Thanks for the link! I’ve considered looking into just trying to swap a later style crossmember so I can run the $8-$12 mount... Is that even an option??
Swapping in a newer cross member is doable, or modify the existing one. Prolly not a bolt in thing. Others here know more. I have not owned a dodge truck newer than 1970. As I was once told, where there is a welder there is a way!
Late 65 w 200.
Factory LU-2 winch.
Updates: 205 transfer case,4.10 gears, disc brake Dana 60 front with lock out hubs
440 repower in the works

My problem is the knuckle head using the welder... I’m afraid my welding would look similar to what’s there now and that’s just unbearable!!
We have a welder and I’ve messed with it just enough I can make it work if I have to but I do t need to weld where it matters structurally or cosmetically... As for time and patience, we have three kiddos 8,5,&3 so time is gone and some days patience is too!! Its a crazy season but I wouldn’t have it any other way!!
Putting the newer style cross member in should be fairly easy, as they just bolt in. Just make sure you use the whole thing, because they are 3-piece similar to your stock one. Two upper brackets that attach to the upper frame lip and the main cross member that attaches to the lower lip. 69-71 and 72-93 transmission cross members are structural, unlike the 61-68's.
Thanks for all the advise! I really do appreciate it! PwrWgnDrvr is coming through with an affordable option for now on the trans mount. I am going to have to address the suspension before trying to drive many miles. Since I have no reference to a factory ride height, would someone mind sharing where this truck sit from the factory and where you measured from? I like the ride height now and will replicate it if possible but the method used is crude and ineffective. Not to mention, unsafe... If I can achieve close to the same ride height with dearched springs and a front axle drop I would begin a search for factory springs to work with.

Stock ride height with stock wheels and tires (15" x 8.15 tires/approximately 27.5-28" tall), would be 12.8" from the bottom of the frame rail at core support to the ground.
