A gripe only for the sake of it, snow related..
And I've got a little white russian in me... So we live in a neighborhood that is hoa regulated but fortunately we are excluded, house was built in 1879. We just got about 10 inches of snow so I decided to go out and bust my ball joints shoveling a 150' driveway. Now last time we had snow they specifically left our house alone, fair enough as we don't pay dues. Low and behold I walk back in the house and 30 mins later there is a bobcat clearing everything I missed!
Hope the storm treated everyone well!

Whats the hoa?? On our street we are lucky if the city gets to it a couple of days after a snowfall. I usually clear the snow on street and some neighbors with the blade on my Rhino.wally426ci wrote: So we live in a neighborhood that is hoa regulated but fortunately we are excluded, house was built in 1879
Thought about HOA. Home owners association.

Yeah I am stoked it happen, don't get me wrong. Just the fact that it came after an hour of labor!
We'll see what happens on the next storm.

Maybe the H.O. A. has you secretly enrolled in their "wellness" program.wally426ci wrote:Yeah I am stoked it happen, don't get me wrong. Just the fact that it came after an hour of labor!

My suggestion would be to thank the equipment operator the next
time he's out working. Give him a cup of hot coffee.... shot of
RumpleMinz.... something like that....

I was in my Briefs about 2/3 through a white russian so he may have been a little thrown off on my intensions......

We got 14" last night... and I use a Snowblower from 1970! DO NOT stand in front of it! The "rotor" clutch wore out, so I welded it and now it is direct drive with NO give if something gets 'stuck' in it. Anyway... I have a drive that is probably 150' fee too, and it takes me about 3/4 hour to clear it with that blower I have. It is narrow at about 24" mouth. But, I got it for free and it does the job!

Maybe the only reason the guy helped was because it was already almost finished. He thought it would be easy to finish, as opposed to spending a bunch of time on it if you hadn't started it. I wouldn't expect it.
Sometimes my neighbors will do my sidewalk or part of it. Other times they don't touch it.

Sorry y'all, just have to.....
70 degrees in Cali today, and yesterday, and just about every day for the last 3 weeks.
Snow, What the heck is that? been a month and a half since we've seen any rain!!!
I'm sure it'll hurt like crazy in June when we run out of water!!

I might even leave the spigot on all night that night by "mistake" ..... Oh well... PLENTY
more where that came from..... and free too. Bottoms Up!
And.... yeah.... we're currently sitting at a whopping 4F here....

I'd say that would likely be a defining moment for you as the new neighbor on the block....wally426ci wrote:

so far we have made a few friends..... All good at the moment. There are a few old cars too, but no car buddies yet. There's a guy with a 76 vette directly behind us but he hasn't made contact yet....

No snow in Afghanistan this winter. At least the places I've been so far.

Hey Doug, how much time do you have left on your tour? Is the family already in Texas or is that all going down when you return? Kids have to be growing like crazy at this point. Glad to see you post!

6 more months. Wife and kids went to Texas a couple of weeks after I left. They seem to like it so far. The kids are getting really big! How is your family doing?

Lots of changes here too my friend. Kids are now 2 & the oldest will be 4 on Monday. We moved about 6 months ago and finally have a yard and a nice garage. To me it feels like you've been away for a while so I am sure it feels longer to you man. Hope Texas treats everyone well!

It seems like an unusual choice unless you(or your spouse) had a job opportunity. It isn't that large, isn't near any metro areas and is in the middle of nowhere.mopardwh wrote:Longview
