the '71 is headed towards canada
well, after 2 months of the new owner working out logistics and shipping, the '71 is finally headed north. picked up at lunch time today in one of those enclosed car trailers. if you see a pacific haulers truck headed west towards washington over the next few days, she might just be sleeping in that trailer. from there it's on to Alberta, Canada. I enjoyed her while I had her. If anyone is ever wanting to determine originality on the 69-71 sweptlines, drop me a line, I've taken plenty of pics of the truck over the years. rolled out of the yard with a whopping 725 miles. - Kyle

Cold Lake Alberta??
Is the new owner Ron Urlacher? He's a big-time collector of musclecars in Cold Lake.
Ironically, I bought a 1968 D100 Utiline out of California back in 2007...when I lived in Cold Lake.
The weirdest part of all of this is the fact that there is literally HUNDREDS of Dodge and Fargo Sweptline trucks all over the place in Alberta.
And most of them are considered practically worthless, hence - cheap to buy!
Why I bought a truck out of California only to ship it to the land of lost Sweptlines is still a mystery to me!

Like I said, there's a multitude of Sweptlines to be found, you have to get off the beaten path.
Here's my latest purchase...for $200.
1969 Fargo with a six cylinder and automatic, one owner too. It sat in the farmer's back yard for 28 years, neglected.
In fact, the box filled up with sod that had blown into it, and grass had been growing in it for years! The body itself was covered with lichen.
The farmers wife shovelled the sod out herself...I guess she considered it part of the acreage! A quick trip through a self-spray car wash and she looked pretty good.
Funny thing, I bought the truck in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan. (Look it up on Google Earth...Its in the middle of nowhere!)
As I pulled out of the farm driveway, I noticed his neighbour (his brother) had the exact same truck! Then, not more than half a mile down the road, there were three of them sitting in a field next to the highway.
And they were all in nice shape!
