New to forums !
Hey all.
New to the forum here. Thought I would introduce myself. I have been a Mopar fan as long as I can remember. I spend most my time working on A-body Mopar cars. I have a 1974 Plymouth Duster show car that was my first car 20 something years ago. I joined this site as my dad and I are starting in on bringing the old 1968 Adventurer back to life. The old beast has been in the family since 1971. It had a hard life of use as it was a daily driver and used in a concrete construction business for many many years. It has hauled loads of wood that it probably never should have hauled. It has been in places that only 4x4's dare to tread. It endured 3 teenage boys learning to drive on it ! The Adventurer started its life as a 318 truck with 727 loadflight trans. The 318 gave up the ghost and the truck recieved a warmer 360 out of a '74 police car. That moved the old truck around pretty good for a long long time until 4 flat spots on the cam finally did the little mouse motor in. Along comes a deal on a '73 440 motor. Out goes the small block in goes the big block. This 440 moved the truck along REEAAL good for many years. The truck finally got retired as the steering gear went all wonky and no one wanted to do anything with it. It has sat for many years now and will need some real work to get it back on the road. We are going to start in and learn some things as we go. So stay tuned for pics of the old beast and be ready for lots of questions and part requests !
Specs:
1968 Dodge D100 Adventurer Long box
1973 440 ci motor
750 CFM Thermoquad 4bbl
727 auto trans (gear shifter on dash....easy to bang gears with! )
8 3/4 rear end with 3:55 sure grip
20 year old Blue streak glass pack mufflers..... ha !

Re: New to forums !
Hi again, and thanks for all the "welcomes".
I plan on adding the pics in a members restoration thread here soon.
Unfortunately it wont be a fast moving thread. We are going to do this on a budget and learn some body work and stuff as we go.
The goal for right now is to get it operationable before the snow flies... which is all too soon.
I already have gleened a load of info off this site and will, of course, still be seeking more advice.

Re: New to forums !
The outside of the box is about 8'6" so it looks really long.
