Radio antenna?
I’m prepping my 70 D100 for a factory repaint and see that there is a “roughly” round hole on the passenger side cowl top obviously home cut, for a radio antenna. Before I weld this up, did any of these trucks come from the factory with radio antennas? If not, I’m sure the radio reception wasn’t gre...

Re: Painting the cab top
Finally ready to paint my truck (got sidetracked by a Challenger!) and I wanted to revive this thread to clarify where the break in the colour should be between the body colour and the white cab top on the drip rail. Wouldthe deviding line be at the top edge of the drip rail, or at the inside bottom...

70 D100 floor trim mouldings
Just getting my 70 D100 ready for a factory repaint. My truck is a 4 speed manual with a rubber floor. There is nothing in my truck to cover the edge of the rubber flooring where it meets the edge of the rocker close to the door, but poking around on the internet it appears there should be metal mou...

Re: Chrysler decal
The decal I’m talking about is inside the drivers door jam , at the front of the door; looks like a manufacture number decal and I’m guessing I can’t get another one, so I’m thinking I’ll have to mask over it when I paint as I doubt I can get a reproduction decal with the same number on it.

Chrysler decal
Getting ready to paint the cab on my 70 D100. The original A pillar decal is there and in good shape. Would you guys suggest masking off and painting around the decal, which might lead to a paint ridge around the decal, or can I get a new decal made so I can remove the original and replace it after p...

Re: Modern paint code
Another paint question; my truck originally had a white cab top and I will be putting back to white when I paint the truck.
Would the cab top have been a generic white, or the 1970 dodge truck code white? (8358)

Modern paint code
Getting ready to paint my 70 half ton which was originally Toredor red.
Is there a source where I can get a modern “recipe” for Toredor red so I can have some mixed up?

1970 decals
I am getting close to the repaint on my 1970 d100 after a full restoration. I am wondering how you guys handle the following 2 decals. 1) The emissions decal on the top of the firewall 2) The VIN decal on the drivers A pillar. I would prefer not to mask and paint around them as that would be fairly ...

Re: Original paint colour
Yeah, the interior is original; they just respected the outside. My paint guy would prefer to pull the original colour recipe as opposed to matching a chip; I’m torn as to which colour this truck was, Toredo red or burnt orange; too bad they didn’t include the paint code on the build tag like they d...

Original paint colour
Almost ready for paint on the full restoration of my 1970 d100. My truck was overpainted once in its life, a fire engine red but was originally a reddish orange with a white cab top. Looking online there seems like there were a couple of orangy red colours in 1970; Toredor red and Burnt Orange; how ...

Underside of cab paint
I’ve been working on the underside of my cab making a few rust repairs preparing it for a full new factory paint job. It’s on a rolling wooden dolly I made so I can move it around my shop, so the underside is easy to see, and upon looking at it closely it appears the underside was never painted; it’...

rear bumper colour
I'm getting ready to sand blast and paint the rear bumper from my 1970 d100. My truck has one of the dealer installed type step bumpers that is either grey or silver painted. I have also seen these types of bumpers painted white while researching the colour. What colour do you guys suggest would be ...
