Re: chattering clutch
I'm not sure what brand of clutch it is. My friend bought it several years a go for his road runner and decided he wanted a different clutch. It probly came from napa or another local parts store. I tryed slipping the clutch and it doesn't chatter. Only when I take off from a stop.

Re: Have to hold key to the right to run?
I had the same problem. Replaced the switch and it worked. You might try checking the connection where the ignition wire goes through the firewall. I also had that happen to the same truck. I ended up just pushing the wire through the plug and rehooking it up under the hood.

Re: chattering clutch
I just put a new clutch pack in my 69 w200. It also has a 360 in it and it now shudders when taking off. It feels like when you try and take off fast in reverse and the truck starts hopping. That's the best example I can compare it to.

Re: 383 hyd bellhousing starters
The small block starter has 3 bolt holes and the big block only has 2. If the big block had the 3rd hole, you wouldn't be able to get to it. Due to it being closer to the block. Both starters are direct drive. Didn't use gear reduction on sticks untill 69.

Re: Flywheel question
Guys I know the 360 is external balanced. I only put it on a bare 383 crank i had lying around to see if a small block flywheel will bolt to a big block crank.

Flywheel question
So my question is: Are the big block and small block 4spd flywheels the same for the 69-71 trucks? I was told that they are different. So for giggles, I put a 360 flywheel on my 383 crank. Aligned the bolt holes up and it lines up. I measured my big block flywheel and small block flywheel, the are t...
