you can get reproduction old mustang tanks from places like Summit Racing..
maybe they would ship to you in Australia ??
might cost you though...

Re: 65 Series I Underhood Wire Harness

is it possible the truck you pulled the harness from had a tachometer ? that wire is usually from the coil..

or maybe it was upgraded from points to pertronix ?? that setup would add an extra red wire to the distributor

Re: lift cab & front clip from frame?

most people seem to take the doors off and slide some heavy timbers through to lift from under the roof..
might help to take the fenders off and keep the weight a bit more balanced

that doesn't sound right... if you hit a huge pothole and unload the axle you'll strain the line ??

don't know if it's helpful, but here's a couple shots that show the upper throttle and kickdown linkages on my 318 with 2bbl which i'm pretty certain is the original V8 setup https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5515/11217503414_a30700afc2_c.jpg https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2831/11217506964_7f04d13400_z...

Re: 727 oil dip stick

sorry i forgot about your question..

i measured the dipstick and
from the bottom of the metal shoulder (under the rubber seal) it is:

16 3/8" to max fill line
16 3/4" to low (add one pint) line
18" to the tip

Re: Throttle linkage stud size

don't know the exact answer to your question,
but if you could measure your current ball stud, you should be able to figure it out...

my guess is 10-32 is the threads on the back of the stud and 1/4" is the diameter of the ball itself.

Re: Parking Brake Cable

sorry it's not a slant six but i can't imagine the routing is much different for the eight cylinder trucks.. i'm pretty sure this is the original factory routing. here you can see it comes out the gland on the firewall and then over the top of the inner fender and then through a bracket bolted to th...

Re: 727 oil dip stick

i have a 727 but with a 318.. don't think that should make a difference though
if you want, i can measure the lengths of my transmission dipstick from the shoulder to the level lines..

is that what you need ?

Re: rubber grommet in shift lever trans A745

do you have the bracket that they pop into ?? seems like they do not need to be so precise that you need the exact mopar part... i'd try something from an assortment of generic stuff at the hardware store like this http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/productImages/1000/6b/6bc8038a-aa20-46e1-81c9-4190dd...

Re: D400 Wheel cylinders and hardware

your project is pretty cool and unique.. but i think you can only do so much research online. at some point you just need to have the parts in hand.. at least they are not a big investment ! rockauto has one of the D300 dormans on closeout for $3. i remember my D100 had many different threadings for...

from an earlier thread: while we're on the subject... does anyone know how much a regular cab, without doors, weighs? Almost exactly 300#. No doors, no dash, no tank, no glass, no nothing - totally stripped. Weighed on a 1000# balance beam scale. 2 guys can pick up, one each side, but much easier wi...
