Re: Your favorite single photo of your truck.

facechicken wrote:axle flip is a bad idea.....dropped axle is the way to go or take out some springs(which can cause other issues)
I have read a few posts on the axle flip and it definitely seems to be a lot less costly than a dropped axle. Can you explain further on why the flip is a bad idea?

Thanks, BK

Re: New Sweptline Owner

I never insinuated anything, especially that someone is a liar. If someone is a liar, I will call it straight out, no insinuation needed. I made a statement that if someone claims their truck is low miles, they need to provide the documentation to back it up (prove it). In 12 yrs on these forums Iv...

Thanks for insinuating that I'm a liar though, makes me feel great! Don't sweat it. Terry was just bringing up a valid point.... in his own way. John :Thumbsup That's cool. Re: New Sweptline Owner

What makes u guys think the odometers have not turned over? EVERY new swepty owner shows up here and claims their truck has just XX,XXX "original" miles when they get it. Yet they always beaters that have not been running for years. Who would park a truck and leave it unused if it was that new? Unl...

Re: '66 rear bumper

There is no guarantee your truck ever came with a rear bumper. Most bumpers you'll see were added later by a dealer or purchased aftermarket. The light-duty factory Dodge bumper isn't that common. Well that makes sense now seeing as how I couldn't find evidence of brackets ever being bolted on to t...

'66 rear bumper

I'm in search of an original bumper and brackets for my '66. It's the one thing that didn't come with the truck and the owner had no idea what he did with it. Anyone have one that they'd be willing to sell or an idea where I might find one?

Nothing wrong with it except for a few minor dings. I just prefer the raised middle look of the later sweptys. Just a personal preference I guess. I had always wondered if they'd interchange. :thinking

Re: hood swap?

Drive it down here and trade hoods, I think the one on my 69 is kind of visually boring. I tell ya what it's real tempting right now to go somewhere warmer and no white crap on the ground! We just got 4" to 5" of snow last night and this morning after rain all day yesterday turning to sleet before ...

Yeah I'd be interested but I'd still like to see a pic of the orange Sweptline Speed shop shirt that oklamopar talked about. Sounds like an interesting shirt.

hood swap?

Would any of you fine folks be able to tell me if a hood from a '69 or '70 sweptline would fit my '66? Just curious and I guess I like the look better.

Welcome aboard! I'm very new to the group also, but I can tell you there are some great folks on this board and tons of useful info! I bought my '66 with just short of 62k miles on her. truck speedo 2.jpg Fortunately for me there don't seem to be a lot of vintage dodge truck enthusiasts in my area. ...
