Re: 67 Fargo W100

It was me who contacted them, I may have mentioned it in a post on here. I have the email tucked away and I'd have to look at it again for the exact number but it was either 100 or a few shy of 100. The and there was a literally a few more 318's made then /6's, That's as far as they broke it down b...

Re: 547 HP from a poly engine

I've been following the poly build ups lately as well due to the big block parts rarity and high $ when you find them. I am impressed and pleased by the developments :clap just think of the horse power and torque numbers that are now attainable in a mild poly stroker build. Keep us posted bpenn3 on ...

Re: Searching...

Thread bump....not a sweptline but very unique judging by the cab and 16" wheels thought you members could chime in and speculate on this 1942 Fargo 6X6 I came across in my travels. Story goes it was on the Alaska highway project then semi retired at some marina in British Columbia launching boats. ...

Re: Poly 318 rebuild or 383 swap?

I've been contemplating the same issues your facing, :thinking and the hassles/$$ of sourcing big block pieces, if your not trailering heavy toys a stock 4 bbl poly is the way to go in my opinion. Fortunately big performance advances in the poly world are finally here :clap like the 4" scat stroker ...

Re: Going back to Points

A good ignition upgrade is to install the GM HEI module on your rig, it is simple and does away with the ballast resistor, mother mopars electronic ignition works well but it is not a true high energy spark which is why the spark plug gap remains the same as an antiquated point system @.035. The GM ...

Why not change your drive axle gear ratio? Even if you have to buy a centre section it would still be cheaper. :2cents

Re: 63 D100 Poly 318 - No damper, how to check timing?...

If all else fails time it with a vacuum gauge by advancing the timing to the highest vacuum reading you can attain then back it off one inch of vacuum.

Re: Photos of your truck being a truck

Picked this one up literally right across the fence from Montana. Front and rear sure grips, supposedly came from Alberta Forestry.Has a Ramsey PTO on it, I've only seen the Braden PTO's, Should be interesting and I will be parting it out.

Well wilmothcody us mopar types are usually offended by what your proposing to do unless it's a Cummins, as spectacular as that truck soopernaut posted is, any sweptliner person in this forum would rather see a Chrysler power plant between the frame rails is my bet. Take the time and :study and work...

Re: Voltage Regulator keeps Frying!

I would back pedal a bit and take a look at what was replaced, is your new alternator functioning correctly ? Have it bench tested to confirm, sounds like maybe a diode issue. Is the regulator confirmed to be grounded correctly ? Did you run any AVR checks after the parts were replaced ? Have a batt...

Re: Thoughts on converting D500 to 4X4

Go for it! Sounds like you have the skills. Don't worry about the wheel openings on the D500 fenders I'm using a set on my 63 W300 that came with the donor cab. I have measured 100, 200, 300 and D500 openings with the exception of the "W500" you will find that the 100 and 200 series fenders have the...

It is a shame this happens to people who are serious buyer's, have the cash and really need the parts for their projects, this attitude also comes and goes in this forum's parts department unfortunately. :2cents

Re: W200 disc brakes?

Ugly truckling makes a disc brake conversion for the W's, in the long run it will be cheaper and easier than sourcing a complete axle plus any alterations needed. Only problem with ugly truckling is that Ray Suiter is out of the country frequently for work, due to this I waited a year and half befor...

Your truck is looking great! I'm happy that the Getrag swap worked out for you. It should be nice with the 4.88s. :Thumbsup Thanks Doug for your innovation and inspiration, it's unlikely that I would have come up with this conversion on my own. It works really nice with the 4:88's now I'm thinking ...

Not sure slick, that gold cab had a newer blue velour seat hobbled into it when I got it. Your 68 restoration is looking mighty fine that color looks great is it close to the original ?
