Re: Drip Rail Trim Removal - '65 D100 Sweptline

Anyone know what size and head type screws were used on the drip rail trim? Also, any suggestions for the 3 seam clips? Thx!-W Originally they were zinc plated phillips head sheet metal screws, probably 6 GA. Replacing with stainless looks nice if you don't care about the galvanic reaction from the...

Re: 1970 Dodge D500 powerwagon

The driveshaft wouldn't be at a steeper angle. The u joint between the axle and driveshaft would be at a steeper angle, due to the axle being tipped upward. Yes, but the longer the drive shaft the less that angle is. A divorced t-case that is further from the axle would have a lower UJ angle, pinio...

Re: 1970 Dodge D500 powerwagon

The actual VIN number is indecipherable in the pic. Based on the instrument cluster bezel, it is definitely a 70 or 71. Per the data plate, it is a 1970. The Serial Number is E33BES105373 and decipherable to me. Tnx Bill, but you left the 0 out between the E and S. Funny, cuz that's the digit that ...

You will never find front drums for that axle.
But drums can be relined inside with a superior material for about $500ea.
Only when they don't structurally fail, which I've experienced on a W300 once and seen both rotted away on another W300.

Re: 1970 Dodge D500 powerwagon

Ok. I appreciate it. I guess someone put the 500 badge on it. I thought it was a 1 ton , it’s pretty beefy though. Lol What do you think it’s worth? Thanks! Yes, as Bucky said, its a 1 ton and someone swapped D500 fenders onto it along with the badges. 1 ton fenders are distinctly different, as are...

I pulled apart a 70 wiper motor and put it back together the wrong way. Had to fiddle with it to reclock to correct position.

Re: Wipers are kicking my butt

Nutz means test it with the wiper arms OFF, not ON!

If you took the motor apart, you may have re-assembled it with the park position incorrect.

Re: Electric Winch

Look at the bottom edge of the front lip of Ron's green truck in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=20160
That is a 61-67 hood.
68 is straight across.
The correct hood for a 65-67 pie plate grill won't bump against the pie plates.

Re: Electric Winch

Ron, the hood is a 68. 68 is a one year only hood.
All hoods 61-67 are the same.
69-71 are also all the same.

Re: '67 Dash support bracket differences

There is absolutely no need for that bracket on the driver side. That side is bolted to the pedal bracket by the steering column bolts, thus a bracket would be redundant!

Re: Numbers on the firewall?

When I removed the riveted on vin plate off a CSS truck I found in a wrecking yard, I found yellow grease pencil notes written on the back of it. That's gotta be about the most inconspicuous spot on any vehicle!

Re: Tail lights don’t work until warmed up?

Maybe corrosion or crud on headlight switch terminals, connector, or internally. Do the front running lights do the same? If not, won't be the headlight switch. Also check firewall connectors for same.

Re: General questions - 69 D200

Glass fuses are readily available at Napa. The factory harness has a connector for the voltage regulator, not that hack job of bullet connectors in the pic. The correct alternator has 2 spade terminals and 1 stud. Known as the "Isolated Field System" per the FSM - get the book. Unknown can is not a ...

Wouldn't the fan spinning on the front keep the crank full forward against the thrust bearing?
I wouldn’t think so the fan is on the water pump.
