This doesn't help your sticky or short stroke linkage problem but will cause havoc with idle.

FWIW, in a 68 Plymouth FSM it says to tighten the nuts to 100 inch-pounds in the Instructions for the Belvedere & Fury,...but didn't see any reference to it's size . Also list's in the Specifications-Tightening Reference.

Re: What is this in my engine bay?
My guess based on pic angles, appears there may be some T's at the water pump outlets. Seems to be a hose coming/going at a 90* there at the red arrows. But at the green,...lot of fittings going on there making it a bit hard to tell. A pic from the blue arrow angle would help. :2cents Not so sure ho...

Re: My 392 Engine brackets
Did a 1966 truck 318 4spd have an 8 bolt crank?
If so, that would make sense why a 392 can easily replace a 318 in a Town Wagon.

Re: My 392 Engine brackets
I guess the most interesting part would be where the 8 bolt flywheel came from? 413 truck? Was there a 361 truck 8 bolt flywheel? In a way, what I'm doing is rethinking :study the 392 idea again but for my recently purchased 64 D100, /6, 3spd. Not that I'm going to start on this idea soon, (need to ...

My 392 Engine brackets
The other thread about motor mounts & brackets reminded me of my 392 from about 30 yrs ago but I didn't want to side track or hijack that thread. Pic is from the late 80's I assumed at that time these motor brackets, & mounts, bellhousing & mounts, and tranny was what came on this 66 Town Wagon sens...

I know one shouldn't have to with as much as those cost but,...Couldn't you add another u-joint to give more room. Or possibly cut the input shaft shorter & re-spline to help also.

Didn't see the article but saw this mentioned on Moparts, a week or so ago. Not sure if it's what you heard about.

Re: New member model 85 heater question
On the heater box disassembly here's page 3 of Dietzdiggler's thread, scroll down about 80% of the page.
He explains how & has about 7 pics showing disassembly. hth, it did me.
