Re: Steering wheel replaced

interesting. never thought about that making it easier to turn the wheel.
is the 15" smaller than your old wheel? if so, seems that would make it a little harder to turn. I just ask because mine is 16 3/4.

Re: another hor problem

technically, the signal never goes from the switch to the horn; instead, it goes from the switch to the relay (in the fuse panel). that is your single wire from the horn button. when you press the horn button, which grounds it, the signal goes to the relay. when the relay receives the signal, it sen...

Re: Overheating?

as Kaegi said, the voltage reducer is built in to the fuel gauge. you don't replace the reducer, you replace the gauge. FWIW, I ran an aftermarket temp gauge for several weeks, and operating temp was 185 - 190. My factory gauge has registered between the "M" and the "P" for ages. Just for kicks, I t...

Re: another hor problem

my ron francis kit probably same as yours on this: horn relay built in to the fuse panel. I have the existing horn. I had to get the ron francis guy to talk me through this. existing wire from button goes out of the steering column (with the other wires) to a new butt connector. other side of butt c...

I wonder if yours is the same as mine? I have some issues with the steering column, but I don't think it's this bearing. This is good info to save for the future.

I recently needed bulbs for mine, and walmart was out of 1157, but they had a 2057. per this article - I cannot vouch for its accuracy: http://automotivemileposts.com/taillightbulbcomparison.html the 1157 is the standard bulb, which outputs 3 candlepower on low and 32 on high. but these bulbs also w...

Re: wiper linkage disassembly

That linkage gets jammed over time and is tough to pry apart. If you can spray a bit of penetrating oil on that location and wiggle it back and forth.... it should come loose. :2cents John Just keep messing with as John said. it will come loose. thanks to Hobcobble and HellBelly for this old post c...

for what it's worth, I used 80W-90 gear oil in my 1966 A745, after my trans guy said that was fine. It doesn't get below freezing much down here.
