Re: new box power steering
Keep us posted on how it goes. Two of us did it so far. You can just drill three holes in your frame and use the CPP plate too.Chuckthetruckie wrote:My box is shipped

Re: new box power steering
In my opinion the plate is the easy part and not even needed. You can use the plate supplied by CPP for the ford or chevy. The hard part is getting a pitman arm made so its safe and somewhat the steering column connection.

Re: new box power steering
OK, I have a friend who has the means to make the plates but needs one to scan and copy. He thinks they will be inexpensive and can make as many as we need. Does someone have the plate spacers etc that they can loan me, absolutely no profit to be made by me, just the work he does. Can he use any of...

Re: new box power steering
I used the grade 8 washer also. I was hoping it was temporary until we get the correct Arm. For some reason my crew gets full steering with the short arm. I may still get a correct arm made it is easy since the box has a Toyota output spline.

Re: aod tranny to 318 poly engine
There is also a 46rh version of that tranny. It can be completely hydrolically controlled. There is at least one thread on here about it. It should be 40 yearoldfury build thread. Also if you google patc transmission sells a kit. The trans ha a .68 OD and a lockup convertor so it should be good with...

Re: new box power steering
Sorry I used a poor choice of words and my ancient tablet. I do that sometimes. What I meant if people were beating down CPPs door with commitments and credit card numbers to order it would be faster. I didn't take a count but there was only a handful on here that said they would order which transla...

Re: new box power steering
I am just going to order the ford box and make my own mount. Tired of waiting for the whole corporate thing I hear you, if it was a Chevy or ford it would have been ready by now! Exactly there are no swepti parts not develped by us. there has been almost no interest on this thread to have it develo...

Re: Moving
The cars are going 537 miles I used DAS dependable auto shippers. Both tow trucks didn't even show up on the day they were supposed to. I am not sure what the Toyota cost since my company paid for it under my relo package. It seems it may be a max of $1200 though. The Dodge cost about $1800 but ther...

Re: Moving
Thanks nytemuvr. I am actually native to Placerville. I have been contemplating this move for a couple of years. Once I looked into the cost of living and housing plus the lack of useless laws I pulled the trigger. The lack of traffic there helps too. A big benefit is my company is paying for the wh...

Moving
Truck left on a carrier this morning from Placerville CA to Meridian ID its new home. I will be following it Friday. This is the first time its been out of the yard since I started working on it. I had the carrier driver drive it on the trailer and all went well but it was scary in the rain. transpo...

Re: 65 w100 project
I seem to remember someone on here delivering trucks. There must be a towing company that does this with a Dodge 3500 or something instead of a transport. I am transporting mine from CA to Meridian ID using DAS auto shippers. Mine is getting paid for by a company move package and costs about 2K. Its...

Re: more amps needed
I am pretty sure the upgrade is this thread and the included link to the mad electrical site. The stock Dodge wiring runs the full power of the alt through the bulkhead and ammeter. The connections get dirty and heat up to the point of catching fire. http://www.sweptline.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2...

Re: Original AM radio conversion to AM/FM Bluetooth ipod
It appears most of these places use the same FMR-1 am/fm tuner board for the upgrades.

I read an article in hot rod a couple years ago that recommended shell rotella for flat tappets. You can buy zinc additives now also.

Re: engine issues
Four row should work. Water wetter is a liquid you pour into the radiator and it lessens the surface tension of the water. I guess it eliminates any bubbles and gives the water better contact with the radiator tubes. You can get it and other brands at any parts store. My vette had a 4 row and it wou...

Is your radiator sized properly for the stroker? I used to run redline water wetter in my corvette radiator. It helped.

It took me a whole day to get the gasket on the glass and hours to get it in the truck. Your on track. It's probably too cold to do it.
