Re: Floor pans
C2C Fabrication, out of Detroit. Their website lists the floor pans and outer rocker/step assemblies at 19 gauge steel. They list the pans at $70 a piece and the outer rocker/step at $30 a piece. I have a set of these pans and rockers that were mocked into the parts cab I bought. The fit appears OK,...

Re: Coolant Recovery Tank
The coolant recovery tank came off a 1976 W200 I scrapped out a few years ago. Old Michigan plow truck, killed by cancer. A quick search shows this tank appearing to be 76-78, with 79 being a slightly different style. It might be available on earlier years, but I pretty sure this style ended with th...

The seller "obviously knows" that the cover/shifter assembly is extremely hard to remove and replace... Therefore, you ought to be able to knock another $500 or more off the price...

Re: What do you think it's worth?
Like me, You're in Michigan. Looks pretty clean compared to most of what is here. I don't consider "soft" floor pans a big deal, almost any dodge truck prior to 94 will have soft floor pans.... Same with weatherstripping/seals they're all at least 45 years old. I paid $1500 for a'63 D-100 short bed ...

Re: 1969 318 Dual Exhaust (w/Headers)
Bringing up an old thread that I found. I will be doing Hedman 79010 headers in the next month. I already have duals off the manifolds, but wondered if anyone pulled the trigger on a kit? I never have any luck with shops doing anything, so it will be a DIY job. I can cut and weld pipe, but not bend...

Chrome dashboard components?
I just picked up a '63 parts cab and front clip and a few items caught my eye. A chrome gauge face and surround, chrome glove box door, and a solid bar grille. Are these parts vintage aftermarket? Or were they an available option? My searches haven't produced many answers.

Re: disc brake dust shields
I wouldn't think you would need them either, on my CJ7, they basically rotted away with no noticeable difference in braking performance. If you drove daily AND were heavy on the brakes, you *might* need a tie rod end heat shield to protect the rubber boot. Although, If you're driving a straight axle...

Re: What is this truck? What is the range of value?
Welcome! :welcome :Thumbsup If it runs, moves and stops half way decent and the body is generally in low rust condition [no such thing as rust free...] and the VIN tag hasn't been "messed with".... I'd say its worth $1750-$2150 ? :thinking :2cents John Yeah, there's nothing like getting it dropped ...

Re: Brakes locking down
There is an RPV in the stock master. Just curious... what is an RPV? Residual Pressure Valve. The aftermarket ones keep approx 2-10 psi remaining in the brake line to prevent the wheel cylinders from completely retracting, kind of like an infinitely adjustable brake adjuster... Not sure what value ...

Re: Brakes locking down
I don't remember for sure, but doesn't the stock master cylinder have a built in residual valve? That could cause some interesting issues with front discs.

Re: New member from South Africa
It is always interesting to see what local changes were made in CKD builds. Even today some of the CKD builds end up with slight changes due to local contenting. They were probably shipped to the CKD assembly plant as cab-chassis combinations (maybe separated, but serialized) with the expectation th...

Re: windows down
Crack the back windows, and/or rear-most windows. This should alleviate most of the buffeting problems. My PT Cruiser is notorious for buffeting if you don't open at least one of the rear windows.

You're already going to be replacing the high pressure hose, I would change the receiver/dryer unit, and might as well change the other hoses while he's in there (it's not that much more money and they're 47 years old anyway). At this point other than a few o-rings and an oil change in the compresso...

Good eye Terry ....that's a blank from a '67 with a dash pad.....did not want to mess up the original ash tray lid when I added the tach. :salut One of the previous owners didn't take that care when they hacked an oil pressure gauge into my 63's ash tray lid. It wouldn't be a huge deal if you could...

Re: Spicer 60 rear disc conversion
Not on a Dana/Spicer 60 of this generation. On a late 70's axle, I used a bolt-on bracket kit off of ebay. It used either the standard 3/4 ton solid axle GM truck front caliper and rotor (which I did),or if you wanted working parking brakes the late 70's eldorado calipers. It's been a few years sinc...

Re: Sweptline crew cab fly in drive home adventure
The Fly-and-Drive is one of my bucket list items, even if I have to 'Roadkill" it... I almost did it when I bought my '63, but was informed by the previous owner that it would be a very bad idea... turns out she was right.
