Re: Factory Roof Mounted Air Conditioning
It appears that that truck may be a 1973 and not a 1971. I've never seen a label like that on a 1961-1971 truck. That A/C may have been a later option, a medium duty truck option or it may be special equipment. If you look at the bottom of the label it says that special equipment has a 6 digit code,...

A. How did Jim know you had a 67 Charger?
B. How come nobody asked about the other Sweptline in the background? What's the story on that one?

This might be close... The screw holes are probably in the same location and the size and shape look about right.

Re: Stihl chainsaw commercial
New Stihl ad with sweptline at end "REAL STEEL" I've seen it, but keep forgetting to mention it here. After looking on youtube, I guess I've only seen the edited version on TV. There is a side view of the truck in this video that I don't recall seeing in the commercial. http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Re: 1967 fargo - canadian
Some have said that the Poly 318 was still used in Canada in 1967. In the US, the LA 318 was used. If you have the truck in question, you can easily tell by looking at the engine. The Poly has scalloped looking valve covers with 2 bolts holding them on. The LA has more rectangular looking valve cove...

Re: 62/63 Early Crew Cab Questions
I've never heard of a company called Coach, but a coachbuilder is a body maker. There were 1,000s of companies out there. http://www.coachbuilt.com/ Long ago, someone here had the paperwork from the company that did the frame extension on their truck and it wasn't "Coach". Since your truck has a 122...

My 70 was originally light Green and was repainted Burgundy, but all those other areas you mention were painted Black. Burgundy and Green don't go together.PwrWgnDrvr wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 2:24 pmMany places would show original color; inside cab, under hood, eng compartment, etc

Re: Rear end
The Dana 70 was common, but most do not have 6 wheel lugs. I don't know if the dually axle uses different brakes than a non dually. I do not suspect that much changes over from the 8 lug axle to the 6, but I actually have no idea. PwrWgnDrvr probably has more information pertaining to that.

Re: 62/63 Early Crew Cab Questions
Dodge started building them for the 1963 model year and I think they started around August of 1962. Dodge only built crew cabs with short beds until 1969, so any long bed crew cabs prior to 1969 will also have frame modifications.

It will also help to look for a seal for a 61-67 truck, since all 68 trucks had large rear windows.

Re: Wheels
I wonder if you could find any usable wheels at John's Auto Salvage in Cabool, MO. I have no idea if they are still around. They had all kinds of old vehicles when I was last there. I'm sure Doug's 4 Wheelers in Pella, IA has usable wheels as well. Doug's is mostly old trucks with a large selection ...

Re: 1960 4x4 conversion?
A '68 W100 should be short bed & 8 lug wheels. The one I have here is a long wheel base W100 with a Dana 44 front differential and an 8 3/4" rear differential. 16 inch wheels with 5 lug on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle. That combination wasn't available until 1969. Did you verify the year using the frame ...

Re: Parts help
The axle is specially forged with a flat pad for attaching the sway bar. It can be attached to a regular axle with a filler piece and drilling 2 holes thru the axle. It was an option pre 69. There are 2 styles of sway bar. Maybe early style and later style? I have both, but haven't studied them to ...

I do not have photos.
The HAXXX SERTs listed above are from 1971 trucks. There is also a HA8032 from 1970 that is just labeled "Cooling". 17385 listed above was from a 1969 truck.

Re: Data Plate and Differentials
I have SERT numbers and descriptions where they did refer to heavy duty cooling. One of them is a 173XX number and the others are from newer trucks. It all depends on what someone typed to be put on the sticker/plate. They even forgot the i in the last one. 17385 H/D COOL I(or Cool 1) HA8033 HD Cool...

Update - Eric Bannerman was able to help me out. Eric has a wealth of of information on SERT numbers. Thank you Eric! Heavy Duty Cooling (larger radiator / fan shroud) = 17347 The (17347) is a mystery. I can say with confidence, it's not associated with the cooling system as Dodge did not call it H...

In 1970, you could get an optional automatic transmission in a W200. In 1969 you could not.

Re: 1971 D100 questions
I'm confident that is the case. It was the same manual for 1969 - 1971. They addressed the later model year changes, such as the evaporative control system and solid state voltage regulator/alternator in the addendum. The local dodge dealer here took on Honda in the mid '70s and it didn't sit well ...
