Carpet trim

Who was reproducing the carpet trim that goes along the edge of the floor, along the step contour? I'm looking at sound-deadening and carpeting the floor and kick panels of the '68. I'd like to get the repops, or a nice set of originals, if anyone is looking to sell a set?

Re: 69 A100 converted to electric

Honestly, I think it's cool, but it's a weekend toy, in my view. The 80-mile range would get me to cars and coffee and back home, with about 15 miles of range left. The only way you'd have range in this, is to install a Diesel electric generator in the bed, and run the electric motor off that. It's ...

Looking to trade my D100 for a D300 or D400...

I'm looking to trade my '68 D100 LWB 318 auto truck for a nice D300 or D400, will consider D500 (no tandem-axle!). Located in OKC, OK. A trade MUST be road-drivable and capable of a road trip. Prefer cab and chassis, will consider truck with any body (flatbed, grain truck, wrecker, etc). No 225 truc...

Re: Looking for the Indiana D400 guy...

That's the guy. Wonder if he's still active here? It looks like he hasn't posted in awhile. He's had some nice D300 and D400 cab & chassis trucks for sale over the years. I'm in the market for one.

Looking for the Indiana D400 guy...

A while back, there was a member here that had a couple of nice D400 trucks in Indiana, that he was looking to sell. Both were low-mileage cab and chassis trucks.

The "Search" function gave me zip. Does anyone know whom I'm talking about??? Thanks.

Swap a Swepty body to a Lifestyle frame???

Found a 1978 D150 LWB rolling frame in Fort Worth recently. Drove down there and hauled it home. My thoughts had been doing the front frame graft of the disc-brake/power steering-equipped '78 to the back half of my '68 D100. Tried looking with "search" but it wasn't much help. So, has anyone ever t...

Re: Remember the movie "Race with the Devil"?

I owned one of those for two years, back in the early '90s. Had a 440 auto. The side cabin glass was from a Camaro. Window cranks and front sidemarkers were GM pickup, but the gauges were '70 Swepty and the shifter was '68-earlier Swepty. Mine had the same wheelcovers, too. Pretty cool rig. It was w...

Re: Dodge Trucks in the movies and TVs

OK, kids, here it is! The debut of my '68 D100 in a movie! This is the first part in a web series called "Ray in the 64-Bit Dimension". I play Ray's Dad, a TV repairman who is pretty fed-up with his son Ray, 30, who stills lives at home and acts like a 13-year-old...complete with imaginary friends a...

Re: What's the answer.

Easiest way to tell is the hood. 1978 is the old style, 1979 is the later (through 1993) style. The '78 has the single h/l per side with the t/s to the inside of that. The '79 will have the squarish headlamps. I'm looking at models of both right now.

Guess that makes the ones left that much more UN-affordable, since sellers will see that and lose their minds in pricing.

Re: Movie truck

Another two-day delay. Might start tomorrow. That's the thing about filming that I do not like at all, is the uncertainty day-to-day of whether filming will occur; and if it does, is it your scene(s) or not! I bled the front brakes on the Dodge last night, as they were pretty soft and with little fl...

Re: Movie truck

We do, as well. Filming got postponed this week, due to weather. We got snow on Thursday, so it got shifted right to this coming Monday. Good thing, too, because I discovered only the rear brakes were working! I'll have to get under the truck tomorrow and bleed the fronts. The pedal had a "wrong" fe...

Re: Movie truck

All states have a state film commission, of some sort, to attract moviemakers to film there. See what Alabama has. Call them and see who they know that arranges vehicles for various filming. Then call!

Re: Movie truck

Three scheduled days of filming for this week! Wednesday through Friday. BUT, these days promise to be cold, with highs in the low 30s. My wife is doing the driving duties, since I'll be at work. She had never driven the truck before, so we went out for a spin, and got gas while we were out. She's g...
