Re: w100 front driveshaft

swapping in a dana 60 where there is an hd dana 44?

It has been a while, but I don't remember there being a difference in length. The best thing would be to have the 60 installed before you have your shafts built.

Re: 69 W200 Transfer Case Crossmember

You need to remove the cap straps and bolts(and driveshaft end of course) and get the angle off the front face of the yoke.

Re: New guy with dodge rv seeking knowledge

Any dodge 300 or350 series 8 lug wheel up to 1993 will bolt up without modification. There are a bunch of 89-93 dodge trucks being parted out as people are after the 5.9 litre 6bt Cummins engine residing in them. These wheels can be had for $50 each in a 16" one piece wheel all day long. That is a n...

Re: SIDs, springwedge spacer and power steering

The direction of the caster shim is not always in one direction or always in the other. The direction or orientation of the shim is completely dependent on the caster angle that you're starting with and what you (or the factory) are attempting to achieve or correct. My 65' Utiline was literally @ z...

Re: SIDs, springwedge spacer and power steering

There are a lot of things that change castor. Maybe the rear bumper is dragging on the SID's truck and they stuck the wedge in the other way to reduce castor and loosen up the steering. It is all about how it steers and how you want it to, and sometimes a little compromise...

Re: 1963 D400 chassis...

If it has a 2 speed rear, the rear brakes will be easy to find. The front brakes are a different story. Also,I have never seen a sweptline era 400 that didn't need kingpins. The front axle on a 400 is terribly undersized. I agree with Terry. I wouldn't waste my time on it...and I have wasted PLENTY! :l...
