Re: Rear bumper question D100
Here's my Ute bumper I made, sort of a modern take on a Barden bumper. Not everyone's cup of tea but I like it. I used 2 aftermarket bumpers and some diamond plate steel, people with fab skills probably wouldn't have to buy 2 bumpers. I set it as high as I could for a few reasons, I think it looks ...

How about a tailshaft picture so, we can understand what you’re looking at. Does it have brake too? Craig

Re: 727 trans help
You say the linkage is moving up to the point where it enters the transmission. Is that lever (arm) itself tight & not slipping around the shaft (can't think of the name, but both the shifter arm & kickdown arm bolt to it). By nature it fits only one way (not counting upside down) & shouldn't slip ...

Re: Truck doesn't want to steer while brakes are applied
I have stock Saginaw pump that’s never been messed neither. I went back through the post to see if I missed something. IDK what’s going on. Have you emailed or called CPP or Scarebird? That’s what I would do. The last time I emailed tech support, I received an immediate response. I’m out of ideas. C...

Shorten steering column and aftermarket steering wheel
Anybody shorten the steering column to get more room? I'm an average build guy but, wheel seems close. I'm also thinking about an aftermarket 14-15 inch wheel. Anyone have a suggestion? Craig

Re: Truck doesn't want to steer while brakes are applied
These are 16x6 steel wheels with 3.50" backspacing and +1/2" offset. I thought they were very similar to stock wheels, but I couldn't find any specs. I'm going to try measuring an extra stock axle/brakes I have to see if the Scarebird conversion changed the WMS location much if at all. Only other t...

Re: Sitting for 8 years dies at warm idle
I pulled the carb off and removed the fuel bowl parts. Didn't look too bad sprayed carb cleaner through everything passage ways were good. Put the carb back on same exact result. Side note the ballast resistor is almost too hot to touch really warm? I'm assuming that's not normal? Normal for ballas...

Re: Truck doesn't want to steer while brakes are applied
I don't have that issue with my CPP. I do have a Sid's and wide tires. Stock big block PS pump. I don't know what the shims are, they came with the kit. I really don't have any ideas What do you mean about being nervous? I can run 70+ without issue. Craig

Re: Manual To Automatic
I want to switch from a three on the tree to an automatic on my 61 with a /6, what should I be looking for? Just curious why? Like John said, there’s a lot involved. I went from/6 with A745 to 440/727. It’s not an easy task and not for an average hobbyist. Welding, cutting and fabrication involved....

Re: Front Sump Pan Clearance
Got it I see what you’re trying to figure out. You may just get the welder out and cut a pan. A buddy of mine had a 440 rear sump with a SIDS. Not sure what clearance he’d had though. He is deceased now. Certainly “hint hint” someone could take five minutes and measure for you. Craig

Re: Front Sump Pan Clearance
Since you have a slight setback, could you just use a $80 rear sump truck pan? I'm not sure what the concern is because other than the vertical movement, the horizontal distance shouldn't matter if there is clearance. When I get ready for another modification to my truck, I'm going to do my best top...

Re: What rear axle
Craig, were the axles wider in '70? If so how much. Im going to keep the drums since there correct for the axle. One of the smart guys will chime in but, I read somewhere that the 72-93 were the same width. If yours is 64" drum face to drum face and you measure the tapered axle, you will find its s...

Re: What rear axle
1965 & 1968 D100 had 11x2 1970 had 10x2.5 Bucky I believe this is correct. I had an early I think 73/74 D100?that had the 8 3/4. That was about the time Mopar stopped with that axle. I also think the brakes are correct and still available. If you’re going to disk, than any kit for an 8 3/4 will wor...

What is the axle width drum to drum face. What is the spring pad width and are they on the top of axle tube. A picture would help.
