Re: NP435 clutch tool
The reasoning is that more, smaller splines have more contact area and cut less into the base diameter of the shaft, making for a stronger shaft.

Kurt,
I'm thinking if you are getting full lock to lock motion, you HAVE the correct pitman arm.

Re: Travel Fuel Tanks
I had a 67 d500 dump truck that had dual saddle tanks. It had a valve on the floor and a switch on the dash for the gas gauge. It looked stock to me. The hook was aftermarket.

Re: CPP Steering Input
How do you know it is the original angle? Did you take the time to check it ? 1967 was a long time ago and there are plenty of things that could have changed the castor angle in that time. THE CASTOR ANGLE DOES MATTER! It's no surprise that CPP has quit trying to help If you can't even take a few mi...

Re: How did you come up with your screen name?
I have always liked to dig into things to see how they work. I can still remember tearing apart my Farmer See And Say when I was little to see where the animal noises were coming from.

Re: CPP Steering Input
Bill, It sounds like "tight" steering is the problem in most cases here. Adding castor shims to the stock axle will not help this problem. 413 wagon has a unique situation with his later open knuckle axle. Adding castor shims to DECREASE his castor may be helpful.I have a hunch that he has too much ...

CPP Steering Input
Hello, I have been reading about the new CPP steering box for a couple years and thought it looked like a good bolt on solution to sweptline power steering. Now that the box is in actual production I am reading a bit of negative feedback. I would like to know just how good or bad this system is. Her...

Re: More Power Steering Box Donors Found?
It's unfortunate the cpp setup is not working out, I have been kicking around the idea of a crossover setup on my 68 W300 by swapping the knuckles to put the steering out in front for the crossover setup. What do you think fellas is it feasible? :thinking I have a NOS steering arm from an m715 that...

Re: What kind of clutch do I need?
A 12"(11-7/8") disk with a 1" 10 spline pinion would be stock in a 383 pickup.I wouldn't order anything without pulling the tranny. With a transplanted engine ,transmission , who knows what you have for a clutch.Does the data plate on your door jamb show that your truck came with a 383 and 4 speed? ...
