Re: Need some measurements

I think I would get a rear axle from a 72 or newer 350 cab chassis truck . My 2000 has the pickup bed with dually axle and I HATE it. I am always rubbing the curb because it is so wide. With stock tires and wheels, my 91 cab chassis W350 has 50" between the rear tires. :2cents You can also get the z...

Re: wind noise!!!

Yea,Bill, they do. I don't know what makes them quieter, but they sure are. I think the slight overhang above the swepty's windshield may be a big factor in the wind noise. :thinking

Re: Front Leaf Springs - Are they directional when installin

Depending how tight the center pin is in its bore, you can get a lot of fore/aft adjustment from a spring pack. The more leaves, the more it can be out of whack. If everything measures up right with the axles, side to side and criss cross,it could be the body is missalinged too. You will likely have a ...

Re: Front Leaf Springs - Are they directional when installin

There is a difference on stock dodge springs. One end has the eye above the top leaf and the other end has it below.Switching ends will change the caster of the front axle and affect steering effort. With a stock axle you want eye above in front/below in back. With newer axle you want eye below in f...

Re: wind noise!!!

The easiest way to get rid of the wind noise on a sweptline is to drive slower or replace the truck with a different era truck. :2cents It was the main issue that after driveing sweptys for over 25 years,I just couldn't take it any longer. My invisible sweptline doesn't have the aerodynamic drawback...

Black dash, crash pad and push button door handles came in '67. I have seen a '67 with black dash and crash pad but had fridge handles.
