i am having the same thought now. havent made much progress. i do know my 318 just dosent have the power i need.

I have a 1968 dodge 1/2 ton truck and it is in great shape. only problem is that it is a 318 and a half ton. i need something to pull a 18' box trailer with my car in it. I have been thinking of buying a newer dodge 1 ton diesel but really hate to part with my 68 and then thought of rebuilding the 6...

I was just wondering if the painted grills were also aluminum like the unpainted ones? I am assuming yes but just wanted to be sure before i went out and got one. I am planning on stripping the paint off and polishing it.

i hit a deer with mine and now its junk. so i am looking for a new one.

I want to convert my 3 speed to a a833 4 speed. is there any easy way to change from hydraulic to linkage clutch? plan on swapping in my 360 4 speed inplace of the 318 3 speed . its a 68 D100

if its a stock 360 the flywheel from a 318 will not work. the 360 was the only smallblock to be externally balanced and requires its own flywheel and harmonic balancer to work right. i have the same issue and finally found a 360 flywheel. if someone rebuilt your motor and did some extra work and som...

also i will bet the driverside front engine mount is different for the 360. i am just starting a 360 swap today on mine probably.

thanks cliff, and to clear up everyone telling me i loaded the trailer wrong in the picture it was only for 2 miles . and just because the forks on the loader wouldnt clear the trailer fenders so we just slid the load up .
but i still have brake issues empty going down the mountain.

no i know you dont haul loads like in my picture! i only drove 2 miles that way and its because the forks on the loader would not go around the wheel wells so we just slid the load up past the wells. i only went 2 miles so no problem. its the only picture i have of the truck hauling anything so that...

how about air bags? anyone ever used them . i would think that would keep the truck riding the same empty and i could level it when its loaded right?

I have a 1/2 ton 68 and was wondering what the difference was between them. are the frames the same? I want to upgrade to be able to haul more weight but finding a good truck is hard. my 1/2 ton is nice and i was wondering if i could just upgrade the springs and mabye the axles from a 3/4 or 1 ton? ...
