I finished the rad support today. this was my first go with spray gun using all components. pgillot, I haven't done this conversion yet, but what I read about it is, you need to move the red 12 volt feed wire on the fuel gauge to one of the bus bar stabs. Remove nut and bend bus bar tab on back of 12 volt fuel gauge stud up away of stud, replace nut. This isolates fuel gauge from 12 volts....

Is your new alternator self regulated? Some self regulated alternators need a sense wire to the battery to regulate the voltage.

Yes, that's a nice looking truck. I didn't know if the 68 rad support you put on the 66 was red to begin with. Interesting some were black on the engine side and some body color.dodgeboykim wrote:My truck is Red with white roof. In my Avatar pic.

Currently from the alternator a green wires goes to alternator regulator, which connects to a black ignition wire. I want to remove the alternator regulator and just connect the ignition wire to the alternator, that should be fine right? Should be, black wire is 12 v in the run position. Alternator...

Thanks Jim, I've seen a few trucks full body color and it looks good. I wasn't sure if it was an option or standard. The 70 has the grill insert, not sure how much will be visible. I'll have to assemble an see.

Is the radiator support flat black front and back above lower area or can it be body color? I am going with B-5 blue body color.

not listed above in your 67 fuse block, is the voltage regulator fuse. Maybe some one can check their fuse block.

Hold a thick rag on the tail pipe until pressure builds up, You will hear where it coming from or as GMAN said, should be able to see the black soot. Might need a partner to pinpoint location.

OK so I went with shaving .050" off the head of bolt because the transmission is in place and the rear cam bearing forging would have to be trimmed as well. It sits flush with bell. I have .060" clearance and feel better now. The 7/16" bolt heads are 3/4", so there's still a lot of meat left. Thanks...
