Re: what do i need to install a fuel cell?
While it may not matter, rubber will hold heat alot longer than steel fuel lines.I use as much steel line as possible and make sure it's attached good and not vibrating (rubbing) against something.Use a short rubber line from the frame to the pump though to compensate for engine movement.

Re: Which Tranny do I have?
I recall that I had a Loadflyte in the 67 when I first got it, (of course it's different now). Can't recall the differences though. :thinking :study Loadflite is the truck name, torqueflite was the car name. There may be some internal differences, but this was usually due to whichever engine it was ...

Yep that 350 was only available in 1958...And the original 383 was a RB block also (1959)..become a B block (low deck) the next year thru 71.

Re: 3 on the tree
I had a 75 Dodge van with a 3 on the tree. It functioned fine. If you are used to an auto any manual is fun for a while but soon grows old, especially the column shift ones. But you feel more like a "driver" with a stick.I'd find a donor vehicle if going to a floor shift. That way you'd have all the ...

The A100 vans and p/u's had a type of low back bucket if I remember correctly, but they were mounted on a unique "pedestal".

Re: Hot start headache
I agree with the above two posts. When my 440 was fresh (tight) I went to a dual battery set-up for a while. Now that the engine is broken-in somewhat it cranks much easier and I'm back to the original single battery (950 cca) configuration. I do use heavy #0 gauge battery cables though.Ignition tim...

Re: Engine tranny combos
Anyone ever think of using one of the 4.0 jeep inline six cylinders with fuel injection, and overdrive tranny in a swepty or dart? they have a lot of support by the aftermarket, and with fuel injection, more modern and should be good milage? But, I dont know much about them as for performance or du...

Re: transfer case mounts
A 74 would be a divorced mount 205.I have one and am familar with the rubber pieces you are refering to.Used divorced 205's can be picked up from @ $175 on up to $300/$400 depending on where you're at and who's selling em.You're more likely to find one on a site like this from another Dodge nut than...

Re: 3.91 to 3.23 swap
How do I tell the difference/tell what case they all are? Is there a tag, certain number of diff cover bolts, etc? The case has 7 or 8 digit casting # on the "drivers" side. The numbers being refered to (741,489,etc) are the last three digits of this casting #.Not sure how a ring/pinion are marked i...

Re: 3.91 to 3.23 swap
I believe a 489 case can be put where a 742 case was (and vice versa) as long as the axleshaft spline-count is the same. The difference between cases only becomes a factor when you are disassemblying the actual third member itself, as the pinion shafts are of different diameter and one's tapered,one'...

Re: Header fitment
If durango manifolds fit, outflow & cost favorably compared to tubular headers, then by all means I'd run the manifolds if I were in this situation. I'm not familar with sweptlines, smallblocks or any of the aforementioned components except for tubular headers and it has been my experience that they a...

Re: Dumb tranny question
The NP445 is basically a NP435 without the granny-low, otherwise known as a close ratio truck 4-speed. It has the synchros and is a top-loader as well. A 435 shifter knob usually has an "L" while the 445 shifter knob usually has a "1".

Re: need advice on hooking up engine to manual trans

Re: Tell me about trans mounts
Does anyone knw exactly when they started using the round ones in trucks? When I went to the local parts house that's what they showed for a 69 rear mount with automatic. I guess the best way to find out would be comparing different years. There are some flat mounts on ebay that state they were use...

Re: A different odd gauge problem.
Years ago (1989) I was having ignition problems that gave me fits.So I also threw in the towel and scrapped the whole ignition system and went with a Vertex magneto. By far the smartest thing I ever did..Still using it today! Sometimes punting IS the best option.nfury8 wrote:I threw in the towel yesterday
