Re: left side axle not adjusting
Bearings are seated all the way in. Called the machine shop. They said there is a ridge that the bearings slide up to, cant slide them further down the axle shaft. Im baffled. I cant get both axles to zero clearance and then back off the adjuster like the service manual says. It seems the axles are ...

Re: left side axle not adjusting
I pulled an axle out of an A body 8.75 and the bearing was pressed on exactly at the same point as my truck axles. Ill double check and see if they are seated in all the way into the axle. Tap the face of the axle with a rubber hammer?? One axle was a very tight fit, needed some persuasion. I though...

Re: left side axle not adjusting
Just thought of a reason. If bearings didn't get pressed all the way to end of axle, this would cause problem. I don't know if there is a flange or a stop where the bearings are supposed to hit. I will pull the axles out today and see if they can possibly be pressed further on. This could be a cause...

Re: leaky master cylinder lid - idea
Yes, I know the diaphragm is for expansion of fluid, if you don't run fluid to the top, you could get away with it. I also could cut holes in my plate insert to let the diaphrams work. I will give it a try. I know I can get the wilwood as a back up. The wilwood unit also has a cool factor. Nice vide...

left side axle not adjusting
just put new bearings on axles of my 8.75 rear. Bolted drivers side axle on to spec (35 foot lbs). Followed directions for passenger side. I can get the right play for the passenger side axle but drivers side is too loose at about 1/4 inch play back and forth. This is NOT a sure grip. There is no bu...

Re: another brake light issue
Im finding 72-85 D100 switches for 30 bucks new. This is the complete switch with wire harness. It does have hazard switch also. Anyway this can be adapted to work on a 65 model?? Again, I know my switch isn't the best shape.

leaky master cylinder lid - idea
I know 90 percent of all mopars leak at the lid. I cant get mine from stopping. Im running the 71 - 80 style master cylinder, I converted to disc brakes on my 65 dodge. Before I mounted the MC I even inverted in on my bench and sanded it clean and straight. No matter how tight I bend the bail, still...

another brake light issue
Hi guys, Ive read all the posts on brake lights and I think I have the best idea on what to do but want your advice. Symptom: Right brake light does not work unless left turn signal is on, then it does. Right turn signal works normal. Left brake and turn signal works normal. It is NOT a ground issue...

Re: Going electronic...?
Ive heard good about both. Personally, Ive converted both my cuda and D100 to stock mopar electronic. Parts are super easy to get if you need them and there is not much to it. Nothing is more reliable than this system. I carry a spare ECU and ballast resistor just in case. Ive used orange boxes and ...

Re: Clutch Pedal/Tranny Question
Throwout bearing is activated when you push on clutch pedal. Most prob this is what is making noise. Just replaced mine. American made, 70 bucks. You will have to take your old collar off and press it on the new bearing. I chickened out on this as I tend to break things. A local shop did it for me f...

Re: about the exhaust manifold flapper
what I did,
PUll out guts of flapper and put bolt in place to plug hole. Even if you are driving it in cold, you will just have to let it warm up a few minutes longer. The flapper is a power robber especially if it gets stuck, which it will.

bad news. I replaced my clutch disc and resurfaced the fly wheel becuase my rear oil seal was leaking and old disc was oil soaked. After putting the rebuilt disc in STILL get bad clutch chatter, grab, when I take off. I did not replace the pressure plate or throwout bearing. these only had about 500...

Re: low votage on run side of ballast
im going to buy the mopar perf. 1 ohm resistor today and try that. If all else fails, I will gut one of the ballast resistors and soder in a wire making a bypass and run it like that. I have a aftermarket coil that is built to take more voltage. Id like to find the problem though.

low votage on run side of ballast
I only get 4.7 vots on the Pos side of coil and start side of ballast on run pos. of key. Its not enough to keep my truck running. I have electronic ignition on my 65 doge D100. It will want to run on start post of key and not on run position. It will run if I bypass the ballast resitsto with a wire...

Re: What am I looking At? - Picture Heavy
I have a 1952 M-37. First year for them was 1951 and they were made up till 68. These trucks are incredible. Made to forde 7 feet of water and go up a 65 degree incline. Should be 24 volt if stock. Maybe yours is converted to 12 volt. It looks like yours is fairly solid. You didnt go wrong buying it...
