So it looks like I have loose centre link tie rod ends. I can move both of them about 1/16" (1-2mm). Drag link is tight. So I'll have to find some tie rod ends.
How are your king pins and Saginaw box?

I wasn't aware you could get a short wheel base in anything but a half-ton chassis (100 series)
From '61 through '68, the 114" wheelbase W100s came with 3/4 ton 8 lug
200 Series axles. :study :2cents :Thumbsup

Re: bumpsteer

bump steer is from your drag link angles or a bent spindle/drop axle when on the ground ,best if you have turn plates ,but can do without wheel pointing straight a head measure your center link (tie rod ends ) and drag link ends they should be even with the ground now turn all the way to the left a...

Re: bumpsteer

Im saving up to swap out my front end for a Q1a front end. Not knowing enough about these stock Swepline front ends, what do I need to get my drop axle back to stock to eliminate the bump steer? I like the drop but the Q1A front end will take care of that. To take care of my current bump steer issu...

For the record 1970 was the first year Dodge offered the automatic transmission in a 4x4 truck. 61-69 were manuals. I have heard of a 50's 4x4 with an automatic, can't verify it.

I thought that '69 was the first year for an auto in a W? :thinking

I didn't feel it was a timing issue as the truck ran pretty good other than that persistent cough... do you think it has Covid?
It might have the Fratzog Variant? :thinking :joker

Re: Full Time 4x4 Hubs 70 PW

Years ago...... I picked up a '70 W200 Dana 44 front axle from a fellow member down in Maryland. It came out of a fire truck [brush buggy], as I recall. :thinking It had the full time 4WD flanges on it. They're somewhere out in my shop.... I took them off to put on a pair of period lock out hubs. John

Re: Exhaust question

I'd suggest you contact Waldron's. I didn't see your truck (slant 6) listed, but they may still have the data or if your old system is intact enough, they can make a copy. I like Waldron's because they offer stainless steel as an option. The part's store exhaust system are pretty light gauge steel ...

Having this old truck to build is a great personal joy to me! I currently have a 318 in my shop that I'm rebuilding to replace ...
