Re: Scarebird parts on the way!

@Gerry yeah...my hubs were in sorry shape with a big chip out of the leading edge and a disfigured stud hole from a previous emergency repair. the hubs I got were offered on the scarebird site. I am told that they are ASPEN hubs. My assumption is that they mean the 70s and 80s car version of the Asp...

Re: Scarebird parts on the way!

All the details you need are on here already and on the Scarebird, LLC website. I ordered directly from their site. Their mounting plates cost 130 + shipping. I also bought a set of hubs which ran 245 + shipping. They have a list of vehicles, just find the listing for your truck and click on the "bu...

Re: SCAREBIRD BRAKE QUESTION

Glad to hear it worked out.
Could you post up a part number and the store where you purchased this valve. I need to find one that is good quality and well priced.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 68 d100 power steering and disc brake conversion

Scarebird LLC does indeed sell a set of mounting plates for the disc brake conversion. The rest of the parts are stock rotors from a crown vic and stock calipers from a GM van or pickup. That and some new hoses and a proportioning valve will get you front disc brakes. As far as Power Steering goes.....

I finally did it! Disc brakes, here we come! I look forward to the project and the expected result. Many thanks to those of you who have posted on the subject. Butler, PA Swepties.

I just saw a dark brown Swepty in Butler, PA. Small rear window, long bed, going down New Castle Hill. Today is November 22, 2010, a monday.

Anyone on here have an idea who it is? A member?

Just checking.

Re: PIcture/Info request

I'm pasing on them for that reason. darn! 15" Keystones are a rare roadside find in my experience. I guess if I was meant to get them they would have been two sevens and two tens with some sick rubber already mounted.

Thanks for the replies!

PIcture/Info request

Hey gang! Long time, no post. I have had computer issues and (happily) plenty of work following a 9 month layoff. I'm glad to be back to work and online. I'm still not quite ready to tear into my truck yet, but at least food is on the table. My request is some pics, or more importantly info on wheel...

If I might offer an unsolicited opinion, try polishing that hubcap first. If you don't like it, just scuff it up and then prime/paint em. :2cents nice truck.

Try opening your pictures in "Paint" and resizing them in order to post. You can decrease their size by percentages. good luck.

That's me too! Almost wish I'd have bought a SWB so I could get around the front with the garage door closed. I can open the doors almot all the way, but no clearance front to back.

The term "insanely overpriced" comes to mind, but I guess that it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Nice truck for sure.
It figures that it's a dealer. They'll probably take far less than the asking price. :2cents
