Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Well it took me long enough to get simple answer so now I won't amuse you fine Sweptline members and go back to Allpar. They are at least as knowledgeable but not so 'flippant'. I will spare you any future pain Oh, and special 'tip of the hat' to Powerwagon54 - aka Bud Thorpe. You are truly a knowle...

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

I am now aware of a 'few' B.C. listed clutch rebuilders, but I do not believe they can restore beat-up old pieces to as good as new condition - - for a competitive price. I would rather get new Mexican parts than take a chance with old, tired, heat and stress affected components. :thinking The cheap...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

Good thing you included the 'S' on the word 'knob' (in sentence no.3) - otherwise it would generate a whole different picture. But, seriously, - - good photos. Some questions arise. (White?) steering wheel and gauge near brake lever? And, other electronics? - under dash. I do not have hole nea...

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Yes, that is wonderful, but we must 'weigh' the pros and cons - such as ultimate costs. Someone out there will have parts I need - either as a package OR separately. I just have to 'sniff' them out. :clap

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Uh huh. Surprisingly (or not), 'rebuilders' in BC are more than likely non-existent. Searches come up nothing so someone will hopefully oblige me as being wrong. Apparently it is cheaper to bring in Chinese or Mexican parts than fool around with worn-out cores. Seriously. Haven't any of you purchase...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

Thanks, Patrick, excellent pics and info - - - except a bit vague about photo with (cool, OEM?) shifter in middle. Could you elaborate on ALL the knobs - and where is W knob? Shouldn't it be to right of Ign.? Is that black knob the lighter and what about extreme right - partially cut off. One more q...

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Well, I did it again. I composed nice, legible posting and took longer than five minutes to Preview OR Submit and, as is always the case - - - - POOF! Now back to square-one. I do not think it has anything to do with my settings, either, because I am unaware of such. Ooops. I'd better Preview now. W...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

I figure it's because I'm still somewhat of a 'newbie' - and haven't put in enough time yet. :thinking  Well, now it's Saturday afternoon so I will add some more info and update. I noticed on the one picture that the left side 'V' knob is mounted on kick-panel metal. I will have figure mine out...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

This is fun ( :banghead ). If I take longer than about 4 minutes to Submit OR Preview, my posting is gone - - - POOF. I am directed to Log In again, as mentioned more than once in the past, and once in again, the Draft is gone and have to start from scratch. Ooops, I'd better Preview this or - - -. ...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

Of course I have more questions. :study One would be how many under-dash braces and where located. I have four pieces here and two are same - and similar to front fender braces. Another is longer with 'wire-loom?' support piece at one end and third has significant 'bend' in middle. I can take pics. ...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

Thanks, guys, this helps. Let me know if I got these figured out. 'A'= emergency flasher, 'B'= headlites, 'C'= Brake-light lense?, 'D'= Choke?, 'E'= Wipers? - - - is that a knob to immediate right of Choke? That leaves me with the other (mostly non-switches) holes - - - F-H-K-L-N-O-P-S-T. Okay? Take...

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Thanks, John - - and others. I have my local NAPA working on finding correct disc. (wish I had numbers) - but, if like every other supplier I've contacted, their (listed) disc will likely also be fine-spline. I will know more when I visit them in a few hours. :clap (sigh). But, the good news is that...

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

Thanks for input and ideas. I suppose the 'drop-down' cables are as I expect. I still need to know what all the other 'holes' are for. Anyone have a 'daily-driver' for reference? So, 'D' would connect to left side of heater assembly - - to allow air to flow either to floor - or to upper (defrost) ve...

NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

HELLO again. I will try to upload several photos to see if anyone (I'm sure someone) will be able to post the individual locations (per the holes in the dash). I suspect there may be a brace or two that consumes some of the bottom holes? Please and thank-you. I will Submit this now - lest I lose it....

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Criticism well-taken, guys. :moom . I was pretty sure someone did not simply swap in a Ford tranny (mainly) because of the differences with the input, output and bell-housing surface. It does bother me that ALL the 'reputable' parts suppliers I contacted seem to concur that the input should be fine-...

It seems to work just fine IF I 'click' on Preview every two minutes (give or take). Now, before gettin...

Re: CLUTCH DISC ISSUES - NOW, PAY ATTENTION.

Well, at least you didn't tell me to GOOGLE the clutch or tranny applications. :clap I've only known about this (fine, reputable, knowledgeable and helpful) site for two months. I tried five different clutch sources - including RockAuto (to get part numbers, specs. prices, shipping and of course ava...
