Re: HEADER OPTIONS FOR A CROWN VIC IFS SWAP
With the CV swap, you have to remove all the cross members from the frame, including the original motor mounts. The CV IFS is a complete unit that cradles the frame rails and bolts in place. Surprisingly simple install if you are handy with a torch, welding machine and tape measure. The unit doesn't...

Re: bumpsteer
I'm not familiar with the flipped axle, but my 68 had a bump steer problem that turned out to be bad king pin bushings.
When it shifted to 2nd hooked up it would jump toward the ditch.
Jack the wheel off the ground and check it for slack

Re: HEADER OPTIONS FOR A CROWN VIC IFS SWAP
The 505 Stroker is based on the 440 block.
The Crown Vic swap is the root of the header problem. Had to narrow the frame rails about 2" to fit the IFS and had to go with a rear sump oil pan to clear as well. Probably goin to have to have a set made or modified to fit

Re: Stalling issue w/ a 318
The base timing for a 318/360 assuming stock motor should be around 10* BTDC at idle and maybe 32* or more above 3000 RPM.

Re: HEADER OPTIONS FOR A CROWN VIC IFS SWAP
The 505 Wedge needs to breath. Searching for a few more Horses for the combo and the long tubes sound so much better. I have a set of ebay shorty's in place now, but I've had to weld them up a few times to keep them going. I have 3" pipes all the way out, just need to figure out a long tube solution.

HEADER OPTIONS FOR A CROWN VIC IFS SWAP
So I have this 68 SWB truck that originally had the 318 3 on the tree and the straight axle on leafs. She is currently sporting a 505 Stroker with a Crown Vic IFS and a 47RE with a bell housing swap that has really made the truck a lot of fun to drive. Problem is I cant find a long tube header optio...

Re: D100 318 Convert to Automatic Transmission?
Jeff, Don't be scared of the Auto install. I've got a 68 with a 727 strapped on to a 505 stroker. A 727 behind the 318 will outlast your grandkids. There will be some fitting and fabrication and drive shaft work to get it done, but it'll be a big payoff down the road. That said, with the small block...

Header options for a 68 D100 440 w/ Crown Vic IFS swap
Does anyone know if there is a long tube header that will fit? I installed a 500 Wedge in my 68 at the same time I swapped the straight axel for a Crown Vic IFS. It's a really sweet set up, but the IFS interferes with the headers. I've tried the BB Headers for a truck and a set of B body hookers, bo...

Re: Mustang II IFS
I'm in the final stages of installing the Crown Vic IFS. All the bushings Ball joints and brake parts are in great shape. Purchased for $350 locally. It would be hard to convince me to go any other route based on my experience. Installing a 505 Stroker so the rack and pinion and 12" Discs are a must.

1968 D-100 Crown Vic IFS 440 swap Headers
Anyone have any experience with headers that will clear the CV IFS? I have tried the 5903 hookers (B-Body) and they interfere with the steering linkage and crowd the firewall. Just purchased the 79250 Hedman and they interfere with the steering linkage and the CV IFS. The engine is stroked to 505 ma...
