Re: Engine oil Rotella ?
You need good oil with extreme pressure additives for standard tappet style camshafts. A diesel oil is one way to get that protection. The new gasoline oils are designed for roller lifter style camshafts since all recently produced gas engines have roller lifters.the newer gasoline oils have caused ...

Re: 69 Dodge D100 Power Brake Booster Conversion
The 69-71 boosters mounted directly onto the firewall with 4 bolt holes. MY booster came with a pushrod that was too long. It could not be removed...or I could not figure out how to remove it without breaking something, so I cut it off, shortened by around an inch and threaded both ends and installe...

Re: 69 Dodge D100 Power Brake Booster Conversion
I ran into the same thing on my 69. Drill new holes in the firewall. If you look on the inside of the firewall, there are other sets of holes in the welded on brace to use as a template. It looks like they drilled the appropriate holes for either manual or power brakes at the factory. I also ran int...

Re: CPP Steering Input
I posted pics of my install on a different thread. The install was very straight forward and looks great. I cannot turn from a dead stop .but I could not turn the manual box at a dead stop either. I am happy with the system...the issue , I think , is the quick ratio box. No amount of pressure can ma...

Re: Power steering, whats the best way?
I used the CPP box and hose kit with rag joint and CPP pitman arm.newer Saginaw pump. Works OK on my big block 69 4x4 with 33 12.5s. Only gripe is that it doesn't have enough assist at a dead stop on dry pavement, but the kit was not designed for the 4x4 with big tires or the weight of a big block. ...

could be 85000. Those were as much about age as they were mileage. I doubt the original set went 185,000. I did a bunch of those back in the day.

Re: confusing vibration
I had a truck years ago that had been pieced together. Same issue, vibration at certain rpms. regardless of road speed. I suspected engine imbalance. I bought the high priced fluid damper for the front..very little change. I obtained sticky weights for wheels and stuck them on the flywheel (which wa...

Re: new box power steering
What is your recommended caster for a setup like mine? I can put it on the rack and find out pretty quick where it is now. i know it drives nice and straight with good returnability so it can't be too far off. I know the The ford trucks had crazy amounts of caster in the 80's and 90's. not sure what...

Re: new box power steering
what engine do you have in your w200? tires? I suspect if you have a 2wd with small tires up front it would work at a dead stop. I'm even wondering about a 10 inch wide tire on mine and lightening up the big block with aluminum heads and intake, headers..... It would be an excuse to upgrade.

Re: new box power steering
it's a small box with a quick ratio...I did not expect the world out of it. I was looking for a direct bolt in box that looked factory. The steering is still worlds better than the factory manual box was.

Re: rust up inside bed fenders
eastwood maks a product called internal frame coating neutralizes and encaspulates rust. the cool thing is it has a long hose witha 180 degree spray end made to shove into unreachable areas. I used it with good results.
