The 300 chassis is narrower than the 100/200 chassis. The steering box bolts to chassis thereby causing the steering column to conflict with brake pedal; so pedal assembly is relocated.

Where is the VIN stamped on the frame?
It is not above the front axle on the passenger side like I have seen on a 1968 W300.
Is it the number on the little plate riveted above the data plate?

this part is at the rear of the rear leaf spring.
It is a cast iron shackle allowing the leaf spring to flex.

I am looking for a source for the cast iron shackle.
It has the number 1938078.
Also need the bronze bushings.
I think they are .75"ID 1.0" OD 2.5" length.
Any advice appreciated.

Even when I put it in neutral, release the clutch and then brake, it dies.

I have a 68 with a 4 speed tranny.
When I brake aggressively the engine dies.
Tried disconnecting and plugging power brake booster, but it did not help.
Any suggestions? thanks
