Re: Wheels/Rims Pic Thread Request
You hit the nail on the head with this set up. I wouldn't change a thing. I understand the tire rotation thing but my truck is just a toy so I will probably have to replace the tires before they'd need to be rotated. I have the truck on ebay right now but after the cruise in last night and all the a...

Re: Wheels/Rims Pic Thread Request
Just installed new wheels and tires on my 1969 W100. Bought the truck with 15x8"spokes (30x9.5" tires), but I really wanted to get it back to an OEM look--plus lower the engine rpm at cruise (was 3000 rpm at 65 mph). Ordered a set of 17x8" 'Gennie' wheels from http://www.wheelvintiques.com/. Runnin...

Installed the dash
Was not too bad. The original glove box took a beating though trying to remove it. It was brittle anyway. It is the funky notched dash. I would have rather had the normal one but you get what you get. It is in pretty good shape. It sure sucked up the VLR I used on it after I used the interior detail...

Re: Cranky truck today
It sounded like a belt but the belt is new. The alternator is new, the water pump is new. Everything is tight as well. I checked all the fluids and all was good. I did add a recovery tank for the radiator and filled it up. I watched the truck suck in almost all the coolant out of the bottle. I added...

Re: New to your site w/ 1970 D100 BB truck
I liked the hood ornament. Congrats on the sale. Looks like mine may end up on eBay before too long. My wife and son have no patience and they seem to be going back on our deal.

Cranky truck today
It did real good last weekend and it got to rest all week. I got in it today to go to the cruise in and after about a half mile it sputtered off the line at a stop sign. Then at about mile 20 it started squealing. It was idling when it did it. I threw it up into neutral and it stopped. I put it back...

Couple additions to the 70 D100
I'm waiting on the dash pad to come in. In the meanwhile other than putting on over 150 miles last weekend going to cruise ins I've had the roof painted and added the driving lights. I still have to figure out why the side markers do not work but that is not that important. Before http://i845.photob...

Re: Offset/Backspacing and Hub Bore
Thanks. I was looking at about 4in of backspacing. Time to go through the members rides section again. Here is a wheel I'm looking at.

Offset/Backspacing and Hub Bore
I'm looking for a set of plain steel wheels for my 70 D100. I've read enough and measured to know I have a 5x4.5 lug pattern. I don't know the hub bore but I can research and find that out. What I don't want is the stock look. I'm sure these stock 15's are 6in wide. I want to go 15x8 and was looking...

Side Marker light Question
When I got the the truck (70) all the lights worked except the reverse lights and the side markers. Two of the three had the bulbs fused into them and broke when I pulled them out. The other two were fine. I replaced the broken bases and installed all new bulbs. Still nothing. The tail lights work f...

Re: Found a painter but have a question
He did a pretty good job. I can't complain for the $150 he charged. Now I need to get the 15x7 up front and the 15x8 in the rear with the 255/70/15's and get those painted white and I think I'll be set. For a while at least. I figure after installing the dash I'll be tired of working on it. http://i...

Re: Confused on marker lights
What prompted my want ads was because I tried to pry the rear lense out and it cracked on the end. So no doubt it was probably a design flaw that people complained about. Either way, design change or they are from a car it is neat to see. Since my truck had a repaint about 20 years ago maybe he put ...

Re: Found a painter but have a question
Thanks. Dropping it off in the morning. This will be a test for him. If he does good I'll use him for the stuff I want to do later on.

Re: Confused on marker lights
Right. I've looked at a bunch of pictures but what are mine off of? The best pictures I've seen they are not like these. Do you have pictures of the 72-up trucks?

Confused on marker lights
Alright, from the research I've done the side marker lights on my 70 are supposed to have exposed screw holes. I have one that has the screw holes but the others are like the pictures below. A member suggested that they came on a 72 up but I looked at those and they don't look like these. They are s...

Found a painter but have a question
I found someone today to do the white on the roof of my '70. Question is I saw a picture of a truck that had the strip below the window body color. Is this the way it was done or did they just do their own thing?

Re: 1970 Dodge D100
I see the rattle can on the bedside. Is that how you did the roof? If so how did it turn out for you? I want my roof white but am getting some high bids for it.
