Re: Absence of "Low End Grunt"

Mark, the cam range is 800-4800. The I don't believe it's the converter, because once I'm moving, say 2 or 3mph, she sits you right back into the seat. She's basically idling at that speed. If I'm coming from a dead stop and floor it is where she kinda disappoints, she doesn't display the same grunt...

Re: Absence of "Low End Grunt"

Lol that spare was the first thing to be took off! Truck is blue and silver now too! And I'm running the ignitor "electronic" conversion. Truck starts perfect and I've never noticed a misfire.

Re: Absence of "Low End Grunt"

Little update, truck is outta commission for a couple days, took interior apart to lay down some lizardskin. I have gotten tired of guess work so I pulled the trigger and bought a timing light and vacuum gauge. I tested them out tonight... Timing was about 5 degrees too advanced, and I had the idle ...

Re: Absence of "Low End Grunt"

Didn't change the exhaust, yet. It's true dual (no crossover) straight from the headers to before axle. 2 1/4" pipe. Later I plan to rework the exhaust and add an h-pipe.

Re: Absence of "Low End Grunt"

The engine builder installed the cam a few years ago. The compression is around 9 I'd guess. Stock was supposedly 8.5, I milled the heads but the new gaskets were thicker than original.

Re: Absence of "Low End Grunt"

Yes, I sent the carb away to be rejetted and some other modifications. He done the estimation calculations and he's real close. No hesitation, stumbles, coughs... exhaust is a lot cleaner than before. Timing is pretty close, little bit of pinging from a dead stop wot. Truck does run better than last...

Absence of "Low End Grunt"

Hey guys! After getting my truck on the road last summer, I pulled the motor to fix a couple leaks. In the process, I did some bowl and port work, had them milled 30, valve job, did the TF-1 shift kit and a 2200-2300 stall tq convertor. Truck is a 318, 727, comp 252H cam, eddy performer intake, 580 ...

Re: Spicer 60 rear disc conversion

I can't shed any light on the ford version but I swapped an 89 D250 Dana 60 into my 69. No mods had to be made at all

Tire Size

Hey all! Soon going to be time to order some wheels and tires for my truck. It's a '69 D200, front end is in original state but the rear end is out of an 89 D250 and is approximately 2" wider overall. My questions are; what is the tallest tire I can fit without rubbing? What offset and/or backspacin...

Re: What's the value on early/mid 60's short beds?

Here in NL, most would probably be asking $7-8000 CAD. I honestly believe that value is very subjective because is all depends on how bad a person wants a vehicle.

Re: Front end rebuild part numbers/prices

Johnny, did those kingpins use a bolt or a pin to retain them? I ordered Duralast KA1337 for my truck as they referenced to my truck ( and utilise pins) but they are about 1" too long and are much too wide. Thanks, Jake

I have never had a shroud... I'll probably leave it anyway because this is going to be an occasional Sunday driver/show truck

Re: Sweptline Radiators from Champion maybe

For #CC375 is there a need to modify the core support opening? The Core of the rad is wider than stock, does this matter?
