440 turbo

I recall a couple of years ago a guy on here had a light blue sweptline with a 440
And single turbo. I can’t seem to dig up his threads now. I’ve bought an old 440 turbo setup from an RV. I’d love to pick this guys brain, but like I said I can’t find anything now. Anyone remember or know the guy?

8 lug rims

Guys, I have a 71 D200 383/727/Dana 60 that I’m going to hot rod. I have a 440 to build and what’s been bugging me is there Aren’t many options to run slicks on an 8 lug. What kind of street/strip tire and wheel combos are my fellow 8 lug guys running. I’m thinking of American racing AR172 Baja whee...

Re: Source for reverse lenses and 70-71 side marker lenses.

This is what the mustang lens looks like. It says Ford on it and isnt exactly the same. Other mustang lenses are cone shaped and not flat and still others say FoMoCo on them. Mine from advance auto do not.

Re: Source for reverse lenses and 70-71 side marker lenses.

Here we go again. The van light and the sweptline light are the same dimensions. BUT the similarity stops there. The van light has no back to it and no way to seal against the housing. The sweptline has a back and uses a gasket to seal against the housing to keep the water out of the light. The van...

Re: Source for reverse lenses and 70-71 side marker lenses.

Check with Bud Thorp [aka Powerwagon54]. John :idea :2cents I don’t need to check with Thorp, I have verified that these backup and side marker lenses fit perfectly on my 71 D200. Thorp is a seller (not that that’s a bad thing, but he is here for profit I’m simply sharing information that I have va...

Re: Source for reverse lenses and 70-71 side marker lenses.

Pic of van lens in sweptine housing, mounted on my 71 D200. One side of the truck has an original and one has the van lens. You couldn’t tell the difference unless I told you which one was which.

Source for reverse lenses and 70-71 side marker lenses.

Seen this on FB a few times and thought I’d post here. Advance auto parts sells the reverse lenses for 5 dollars apiece. And the fit perfectly! I have a set on my 71. Looking for high quality prints

I’d love to find some high quality prints to hang in my man cave. My favorite is the old “power wagon” drag racing truck. I can’t find anything high quality though.... I’d like to blow it up on a big canvas print and hang it on the wall. This one is my favorite but at 180kb it’s gonna get blurry and...

Brake and axle upgrade options

I love my 71 D200 but hate my front drum brakes and funky reverse threads on one side of the truck. Also not a fan of the smallish lug nuts and studs that don’t fit well with modern wheels. So I’ve looked at the scarebird and ram man conversions and it seems like ram man is the only option with 8 lu...

Bolt pattern for D100

So I've recently acquired a truck bed trailer made from the back half of a D100. It needs a sore but it's too small a bolt pattern for any of the Chevy rims I've got laying around to fit. What is the bolt pattern? What other trucks share this smaller 5 lug pattern? As soon as I know I'll be heading ...

Recipe to get into the 11s (440)

So I am about to pull the 383 with a spun main and have a 77 smog 440 I'll have rebuilt to go back in. Looking for a combo that will let me break into the 11s. It's a 71 D200 with a 727 and Dana 60 with 4.10s that I will swap out for 3.54s. I'm thinking of a Hughes whiplash cam, forged Pistons, eith...

Re: Radiator hoses 383

Not that I can read, the top was some kind of unscersal flex hose with the sprIng inside of it and the bottom was ancient and swollen and totally crusty with grease oil and dirt. It looked like it was about to explode it was so swollen. The two parts stores that I went to brought out several hoses t...

Re: Radiator hoses 383

Positive on the radiator. Haven't tried oreillys yet. I'll give that a shot. The problems I was having with other parts stores was they didn't even have anything listed.

Tried that when I bought the truck 2 years ago and had to replace the radiator. Two parts stores didn't carry them. That's why I asked here on this forum.

Anyone know where to buy upper and lower radiator hoses for a big block sweptline? I am swapping out the 383 for a 440 and the hoses are shot.

Are 383 and 400 flex plates and converters interchangeable

So I have a 71 with 383/727 that should have the cast crank and spun a bearing. In the junkyard is a 77 400 but with a manual trans. Can I just use my 383 flexplate and converter or will it be out of balance?

Will 91 D250 axle bolt in?

Wondering if a rear axle from a 91 d250 would bolt into my 71 d200? It's on Craigslist and I think it should be a Dana 60. I'd rather have it if it is a 3.54 and get rid of the funky reverse threads on one side and possibly better drums too.

Any info would be appreciated.
