Need a NP201 transfer case

I was driving down the highway at about 60 mph and my 1968 Crewcab W200 locked up. I was able to get flatbed towed home and discovered that me transfer case bearing was the culprit. I ground the bearing off, but is too much work to grind the inner bearing part on the shaft. Does anyone have a NP201 ...

Re: Heater temp control ?

I replaced my valve from one I picked up from NAPA. The valve was of course plastic now, but has been great with no problems. the temp control is just dictated by how much you pull the valve out.....

Re: Wintertime Blues

The first picture of the 1945 Dodge dump truck is in Plain, WA and was at Christmas. It has probably 2 more feet now and similar to your Chelan snow. Enjoy the winter now!

Re: W300 transfer case PTO attachments? Practical? NE1 use i

I have a 1945 Dodge Dump truck that has a rear PTO. It is used to power the hydraulic piston for the dump bed. It also has an inline pulley between the cab and dump bed to power another PTO gadget. There are a few items I can think of that could be powered in this location. 1) I have a 20,000lb Brad...

Re: Excessive oil comsumption

Damn. I thought this would be easy. Thanks for the input on the later style motors. The engine is not smoking.....I will run a compression test to test the rings and valves.... Other possibilities? What is an estimated cost of getting my 318 rebuilt? Crates are $8000....I am thinking of keeping my n...

Excessive oil comsumption

I have an original 1968 318. It consumes excessive oil, ie more than a quart per 1000 miles. I have read on the internet that this is most likely caused by a intake plenum gasket leak that draws oil into the intake. There is a test for this that I have not completed yet, but wanted to ask the group ...

Re: Speedometer Whine

I have been out of commission that last few weeks. Sorry for the delay. There is a very small brass plug on the top of the speedometer that needs to be removed prior to oiling. Second, Go look at the 4x4 forum and I have pictures and youtube video links to the truck. It is awesome to dive and show o...

Re: Speedometer Whine

It was explained to me how to access the felt to lube the speedometer. Once I did this, there has been no noise what so ever. As Bud mentioned I do not think most speedometers have been lubed since they came of the line.

All good now. Thanks for your help.

Speedometer Whine

My 68 W200 was sitting for at least the last 14 years and finally have the thing restored. I have 35,000 miles on the truck. When cold, my speedometer whines and the needle jumps up 10-30 mph. Once the whining stops, the speed is accurate even with the 37s. About 1 week ago, I removed the cable from...

Re: 318-LA best stock carburetor replacement

I could go with EFI, but at the moment I have a 100% stock truck (except the color) and want to keep it that way. Carburetors have been used for well over 130 years and should be fine. Also, with 4.89 gears it does not need more power. I am looking for clean idle and acceleration. I have a Corvair e...

318-LA best stock carburetor replacement

I am done with my carb.....I want an OEM f the Stromberg WW3-383 carb for my truck or a very close new carburetor. What are your best suggestions for replacing this carburetor? I would prefer new if not a 90% rebuilt. Where can I find these? The rest of the truck is 100% stock so New OEM or best reb...

you are correct in both instances. Only one V know at the drivers side kick panel and the right side vent connected to the blower B knob. I will send you a PM to send the video of the under dash and heater box.

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

On mine the heater valve is in the heater box. I can take good pictures of this as well as this is the last item to install. I can easily show you the wiring for the box as it is hanging from underneath the dash.

Re: NEED TO IDENTIFY HOLES ON '68 DASH - SEE PICS

I will take a gopro video of the dash and underneath tonight or tomorrow and post for your use. The H cable on mine goes to the heater box which is where my valve is and does not go thru the firewall.
