318 rear main engine oil seal leak
My 66 W300 (with a early 80's 318 engine) has developed an oil leak at the rear main seal. Is this the same seal used in all 318 engines used up throught the years and what is involved in the replacement?

Re: Battery possibily over charging
Found the problem to be bad grounding (engine block to voltage reg.) We sometimes tend to over look the simpler things.
Thanks to all who responded.

Battery possibily over charging
After reassembly of 66 W300 318 I have noticed that the battery seems to be pushing out acid from the vent holes. I have not checked voltages at the battery yet but was wondering where to start first. On initial start up each time--ammeter pegs in the charge position and after 15 sec. or so drops ba...

Turn signal question
I have been reassembling my 64 W300 and installed and wired the front/rear turn signals as they were previously. (I thought) Front signals are mounted on each front fender (1 wire each) and rear signals are tail-stop/turn. Both left and right turn signals work as needed along with all other lights b...

Fuel/temp. gauge clarification (again)
After reading all of the posts regarding the fuel/temp. gauge issues, I am preparing to build a limiter like discussed usuing the (7805 and 7808) limiters with a heat sink for my 64 W300. Should the fuel gauge first receive 12v on the 12v input terminal of the gauge from the 7808 resistor and then c...

Front sheet metal assembly
I,m preparing to assemble the front sheet metal on a D300. Would it be best to mount the radiator support 1st. and then the fenders? Or fenders 1st.? Followed by the hood last. Everything has been painted and hope for as little paint damage as possible.

Headliner question
I have a question regarding the headliner in my 66 W300: I have chosen a material to use for the headliner but I am in question as to what to use as a backing that will go against the roof metal? I was thinking about using a glue like liquid nails for the material to some kind of backing. Has anyone...

Clutch adjustment
Just installed a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and slave cylinder on my 1966 W300. After reading the service manual, it seems a little vague. Where is the first place to start with the adjustment? How much adjustment/free-play should I have at the release leaver on the bell housing a...

3 arm mirror/brackets-mounts
I am trying to find mirror arms/brackets that mount at 3 locations on each door. Mounts at 2 places below the door windows and 1 ahead of the vent window. These were used on D/W200-300 trucks.
