Re: A1Hunerd

Well I see that 5-1/2 years went by in the blink of an eye (and since I last posted the 'starting' pix)! Of course alot has happened and not enough on the truck. The body guy I made the mistake of paying up front had it for 2 years before I got it back about 3/4's finished. He did superb body work b...

I just saw an episode of "Overhaulin" where Chip Foos (SP) tricked out an A100 short wheelbase truck. I never googled "Overhaulin" to see if they have a website. If they do they might have some pics or maybe a schedule of re- broadcasts? They installed some custom wrap around bucket seats which was ...

Not a Poly!

Although nobody answered my very "green" question on what a poly was or stood for, I answered it by reading more info available on this site. The tricky thing is that even though I have an LA318, the suggestion that the easy way to tell the 'Poly or Wideblock' is that the intake side of the valve co...

I am rebuilding my 318 right now (first ever engine rebuild). I am curious what advice/opinion you have on cams as mine looks a little worn (burnished and shiney spots) and the solid lifters look perfect (have two push rods that are worn funny on the rocker arm side). I was considering replacing the...

Thanks John!

Without a map I don't know where Lockport is. We have one near Joliet (Illinois). If it's up-state, it's really cool there. I lived in East Northport on the island for about a year. Was just okay (great if you like a long commute!). Dave

Color of choice

Hey Cowboy, I think I've settled on a dark charcoal grey metallic (like what Pontiac has been using on the Grand Prix) with a bright silver metallic accent stripe (where the white was). I was thinking of then painting the bulk of the interior silver (have black seats) with any kind of additions bein...

Beam me up Scottie!

Damn, that's in my budget and the timing couldn't be better. The only real problem is I'm kind a dumb at book learnin', pics would be worth a thousand words! As everybody else is sure to say, "why didn't I think of that?" :welcome :goodpost :study :withstupid

What a huge improvement on the engine! Did you replace the exhaust manifold with something off a newer engine or is that just what it looks like painted? :clap :clap

Galvanized sheet metal?

I'm noticing a few spots on this 66 A100 have galvanized sheet metal on the body. Was that what Dodge used or is this the remanants of a previous restoration? I know the upper rail around the bed was not holding the last paint application so well and wondered if painting galvanized requires special ...

TRUE STORY!

This might explain why this kid that came to work for us (here in Chicago) hit 3 toll booths in a month (he was from California too)! We let him use the company car until his Probe was fixed but that never happened, he rear ended somebody in that and got fired before he could explain! All kidding as...

our project

Hey EH100! My 16 year old son and I have stripped about 85% of the removable parts off our '66 A1oo compact pick up. We are getting it ready for glass beading soon and then both of us are about to learn how to best restore the rotted out areas and prep it for paint. We are going to tear down the 318...

A1Hunerd pix updated

I posted 2 addl. pix on my May 6th posting, not realizing it wouldn't change the date and bring it back to the top of the list. Anyways, this 90" W.B. has sat on the side of my garage for 9 years letting the last body work come undone and waiting for my son to come of age (and my finances). It was a...

Oh by the way, don't do a GOOGLE search for Spice Girls, (hoping to find the compact A100 in their video) unless you really dig 2 tons 'o' fun.
