Re: 1970 truck mirrors
Hello, My 1970 D100 "The Dude" has West Coast Jr. mirrors. I restored them completely by media blasting all the metal parts, painted with white - 3 coats. reassembly with all chrome acorn nuts and hardware. They look very cool. They give "The Dude" a wide stance look coming down the highway. Take ca...

1970 D100 Bushing Replacement for Power Assist Bushing
Hello All, I am needing to find the correct replacement bushing for the power assist ram where it bolts to the front axle in my 1970 D100.
I have tried some urethane substitutes from the local O'Reilly store but they keep breaking down.
Thank you for any help you may have.

Re: Painting Grills
Update on the Grill painting for the Dude. We applied the paint a year ago, I have driven over 3,000 miles around town and out of town and there is no chipping, no surface failure, just a good clean look. We used regular primer with basecoat clear coat. We did clear three times for protection insura...

1970 Dodge D100 Brake and Clutch Covers
Hi, saw one post that offered one choice of Year One B-body passenger car, but I would rather have a direct replacement source for brake on clutch covers for the my 1970 D-100, The Dude. If you have other sources, please direct me to your vendor that has provided you replacement pedal covers for 197...

Dude at Home 18.jpg Hello and welcome to the Sweptline Community. I also have a 1970 that was my first truck project but it was not as nice as what I am seeing in your pictures. I like your stock look, I still have the same hubcaps that you have but mine were beat up and replacing them would have b...

Re: 360 motor question
12x6esized.jpg Hi, I was wondering what the community thinks about the 360. In 1996 before my ownership of 2013 I have documentation they changed out the 318 for the 360. Sounds like a lot adjustments to make this happen. Given the gearing in the rear the truck is most comfortable at 50mph but it w...

Re: Painting Grills
Silver Painted Grill 12.jpg Hi, we painted the grill with a white based silver and then 3 coats of clear. All the trim was painted the same way after it was prepped by lightly blasting the anodized surface and fixing any dents with filler. Base primer was white, then followed white based silver so ...

The Dude Friday Night under lights 12 103015.jpg The Dude was not built for hauling, but it does get an occasional bike in the back on the bed rug. Sure he is spoiled, but like all my kids I think deep down he appreciates it. It is a gentleman's truck to drive to Friday Night Football, one of the g...

Hi John, here is a quick overview of Don Marrah. His shop in Owosso, Michigan is where my current '67 Mustang Pro Build is being done. I am allowed to contribute when the task is within my pay grade. While we are doing the Mustang, I brought out my truck and I worked with the B Team in all aspects o...

Front Drivers Shock Modification
Looking at the shocks and the front drivers shock placement has been modified because it looks like they needed room for the shocks that were put on. They look a bit bigger so I can see where they cut the lower bracket off and re-positioned back so the shock would have clearance. I had my guys look ...

Dude Freighliner shifter boot 16.jpg Here is something that may help you out, when my old boot looked like beavers ate it raw, I could not locate any replacements and did not receive any leads. So I stopped at my local 18 wheeler shop, D&D Truck Supply in Corunna, Michigan and they had a Freightlin...

Hi, the truck was originally from Colorado Springs. Landscape owner bought fleet vehicles plus 10 so he got to choose his color of choice. I have the number and I will dig it out. That is why it is unique and a bit different. I purchased the truck in Clare, MI from the second owner that bought it of...

LED 7" Headlights now available at LMC Dodge Truck
Saw this on Stacey David Gearz, LMC Truck is now selling 7" LED Headlights, very cool, very pricey, but if you want to really see at night while driving your treasured ride, it might be worth it. Here is the link: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/dc/full.aspx?Page=41 LMC is adding a lot of Dodge Tru...

Re: Grille restore
Hi, here is another use for brasso, my daughters used SOS on our counter tops and left "hot spots". After trying many products, nothing worked. On a whim, I tried a little Brasso and it took it the hot spot away. I had to do the whole counter top to make it all similar because of the finer grit clea...

Re: New Weather Strip makes door bulge 1970 D100
Hi, I doubled check and the small V is against the door. I doubled checked my order and they apparently sent the right part. This is always a possibility that it was mislabeled. I don't know what to do about that, but at this point it is not working so I guess I will try the restoration specialties ...
