318 Poly
I am going to rebuild my 66 318 poly this winter. I want to get a little more power out of it. I am thinking about a mild street cam and a 4 barrel carb. I have a stock Mopar 4 barrel intake manifold for it I want to keep the engine looking stock so I would like to use a small AFB carb and period ai...

Re: Factory Tach
Hi. Yes, I was wondering if they also had a pod style tach for a gas engine that mounted to the TOP of the dash like my diesel did. Yes, my 93 Cummins was prewired for the tach, just plug it in. My 66 CSS has the optional heavy duty gage package that has the Sun tach as part of the cluster. I have s...

Factory Tach
Hi, Just wondered if anyone knew if a factory tach was available on a 1993 W150 w/360 gas engine. I had a factory one that mounted on top LH of the dash on my 1993 W350 Cummins. I have seen them on diesels but never on a gas. Haven't been able to ask the question on 72-93 sites due to posting proble...

Hi,
The " Log me on automatically each visit" feature doesn't seem to work for me even though I select it. I have to log back in every time I load this site. Comment?

66 D100 Options
Hi, I have a 66 D100 CSS that has most of the factory options but I would like to add Power Brakes and A/C. Looks like PB were not an option in 66 on D100. If so, I wonder why not? If they were an option, then was the booster frame mounted under the truck like my old D300 or was it the style that mo...

John Geidel sells complete rebuilt latches for 57-66 trucks for much less than VPW. He is very knowledgable about our trucks and has lots of parts. Good guy, call him @ 651 653 0147, MN

This isn't mine. It is on Craig's list---treasure coast . Can't seem to copy the link. Wonder if the 315 could be factory. That engine was primarily used in the larger 57-60 Power Giant trucks. Looks like it has optional 19.5 tires too.

Re: 66 CSS oil pressure problem
Thanks, I am looking around for one. Looks like I need one that measures approx. 17" from the face of the stop to the full mark. On top of everything else, they modified one from a FERD!!

Re: UPDATE: 66 CSS oil pressure problem SOLVED!!
Installed test gage in the block. Still had fluctuating readings. Decided to change oil filters. After adding only around 2.5 quarts of oil we were reading FULL on the dipstick!!??? A close inspection of the dipstick revealed a hand scribed line above the factory full mark. Contined to add the requi...

Re: 66 CSS oil pressure problem
There was no crud in the pan or filter at all. Very, very clean. Just blew the tube out with compressed air.
The truck has been converted to a spin on filter.
Condition of the line is good.
Will install the test gage this afternoon and go from there.
Thanks for the ideas.
Jerry

66 CSS oil pressure problem
Had a problem about 400 miles ago with the oil pressure fluctuating from 55 psi down to 20 psi and back up again without changing engine RPM. The truck has the original 318 poly and the heavy duty gage cluster so it has a mechanical pressure gage. The engine has great compression and uses no oil. So...

Re: Original AM radio conversion to AM/FM Bluetooth ipod
Another place to check out is http://www.SouthTexasAntiqueElectronics.com. I had my radio from my 66 CSS converted to AM-FM/iPod. They offer several different conversions in addition to a basic AM repair. I opted for the basic FM conversion using my existing speaker. I just wanted to listen to FM bu...

66 D100 CSS weatherstrip advice
Hi- need advice on the best vendor for a new molded door weatherstrip. I am looking for one with the original crossection and a molded mitered corner on the upper hinged side of the door. The one I received from RS is just a generic seal that isn't even close. Also need a new windshield gasket with ...

1966 CSS oil pressure
The oil pressure on my 66 D100 w/318 V8 normally runs 55 psi when at operating temperature and say 1500 RPM. Recently it drops to 35psi for a couple seconds then pops back up to 55 psi with no change in RPM. This is an intermittent problem. The truck has the optional gauge package with tachometer. T...

Dodge R and S series
Hi,
I am considering buying a parts manual covering R and S series Dodge and Fargo trucks. Would this cover my 1966 D100? I know my 58 W100 is a L series but don't know what series my 66 is.
Thanks,
Jerry

1966 CSS Seat belt anchor location
Hi, According to the literature, seat belts should have been standard on my truck. It doesn't have them. I believe the correct anchor locations are on the vertical panels under the gas tank. Does anyone have the correct anchor spacing for this CSS with buckets seats or can you give me some guideline...

Re: Backup Lights for 1966 CSS
My 1966 Mopar service manual schematic doesn't show any backup light wiring, so I may as well go off the fuse block. I found the mtg location of the switch with the 2 small tapped holes. I bought a factory switch off eBay for $20 including freight so I will soon have backup lights. Now I will start ...
