Re: Smoking Parking Brake

I agree with your conclusion. But it was fine with this adjustment for months. Is is possible that the adjustment worked itself tighter or something is binding?

Smoking Parking Brake

I got off the freeway and my parking brake was smoking. It is the drum style on my 64 D200. The brake was released while driving. I adjusted it about a 500 miles ago and the drum was machined about 1000 miles back the lining was also replaced. When the brake cooled off I pulled the lever and it did ...

Poly Oil Filter Adapter

Hey all, I need to replace my oil filter adapter on Poly. There is a link to a Decade Auto Parts, but I can't find it on their website?

Cheers,

Re: Carb linkage-slant6 to la318 swap

I have the rod from my 64 318 truck. I just switched to a cable style throttle when I went to 4 bbl. This should work for your truck. Send me a pm if you are interested.

Throttle Cable Length

I'm converting my 1964 D200 manual transmission Poly to a Holley 4bbl on a Chrysler Power intake. I need to order the Lokar throttle cable and was wondering what length is best? What is my best option for a gas pedal? Thanks for all the support so far. I will post photo's when one of my tech friends...

Re: 318 Poly Build

Thanks PwrWgnDrvr, Now my next question... I just got off the phone with Ken at Oregon Cam Grinders and he thinks that you can convert from a solid lifter cam to hydraulic by changing the cam and lifters. Is it that simple? If yes then I will go with grind #1913 210/214 450/450 110 LSA and center-li...

Re: 64 D200 Discs

The rotor, bearing and caliper interchange is 82 Chevy 3/4 ton. I will try and get some photos in the next week or so. I've also been bugging Roger to post some stuff as well. Again I am very pleased, it made the truck much more practical and safe.

64 D200 Discs

I found a disc brake kit for my 64 D200, I got it from Roger at AAJ Brakes and am very happy with it. The improvement is huge.

318 Poly Build

I'm looking to improve the torque with my 318 Poly. It is in a 64 D200 paired with the NP420 and 4.10 gears. I want to start with the heads, cam and intake. I found some builds and articles online, but they are geared towards horsepower. My goal is to use this truck to tow my car trailer and be able...

Re: 64 parking brake band and drum

Thanks to Ott's Friction in Portland the truck is back on the road. They turned the drum and re-lined the band.

Before the work my truck had a severe vibration that started at 52 mph, my mechanic told me it was my parking brake. I was skeptical, but he was right.

Re: 64 parking brake band and drum

I'm having the band relined and the drum turned. The drum is in pretty bad shape and turning it is something of a band-aid until I can find another.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going with the air bags to start with. Is there a part number or a particular model that will interchange with my 64 Dodge?
Cheers!
